|
|
i got my shawkboard a few days ago its pretty sweet. i was surprised that the board was a brand new liquid force armada and that there was a t-shirt, and some stickers too. oh yeah the shoes fit too
the first thing i tried was velcroing my feet to it. it was fun cus you can do boned ollies really easy, and ollie threes like nothing. i tried a tantrum behiend the jet ski so that was pretty funny.
then i switched to wakeskating, which was sweet. i was pretty skeptical at first on how the board would ride because it lost some concave with the velcro system, but i ended up really liking it. i was surprised how easliy the armada rotated on kickflips. i acidently spun a one and a half kickflip on a normal kicky attempt. 3 shuvs were a little hard at first too, because of the channels.
today my brother rode the board behiend the boat attachted with the velcro system and he did some 3's a tantrum and some boned ollies, all pretty much first try. so he was pretty stoked on it. then my brother's friend rode it using the velcro, and he liked it a lot, he likes it more than wakeboarding. then my friend rode it, he thought it was pretty cool too.
then i took it out as wakeskate for a boat sesh and i ablsolutly love how the armada rides. it has massive pop wake to wake, and it feels like its suctioned to my feet, (even though its not). i was feeling spontanious after landing two w2w 180's toeside and heelside, so i decided to go for a w2w kickflip. i went for it and actually rotated it! then the rest of the time i tried those and stuck one of them, but fell after a second of riding away. i tried a ton of stuff wake to wake: fs bigs, shuvs, 3 shuvs, kickys and was so surprised to actually get close to a lot of it.
overall, i think that shawkboarding would be pretty sweet if you couldnt decide to buy either a wakeskate or a wakeboard. as for me i'm going to stick to the wakeskating, but im sure it's still going to be used as a wakeboard.
oh yeah and call me crazy, but the the liquid force armada is the best board i've ever riddent!
i cant thank shawk enough
and another thing, the board couldnt have come at a better time, because the day before it came i completly destroyed my gator board. (the only board i had left, so i would have had to go boardshopping) _________________ http://www.stickandflick.com

I got the grip tape cover for the shawk gear and tried that out yesterday. It worked really well. A good way to cover up the Shawk stuff for normal wakeskate use and easily removed for when you want to attach.
So far everything is holding up well too.
I have been trying to use it as a training tool and its working well for that. I have been focusing on in/out ollies. I couldn't pop them very well before and more just fell off the wake going out. I attached with the Shawk gear and just kept doing them repeatedly. I think this got me used to popping them and landing them better, because when I put the grip top on I was doing them way better then I could before. I am popping them up and landing and riding them out. _________________

tommy trice, its a liquid force armada wakeskate with velcro on the top, it has griptape that velcros on and off
you take the velcro off and you can stick to it with the shoes that come with it, or you can ride it like a wakeskate _________________ http://www.stickandflick.com
