Okay, so every year somebody in my fandamily busts out with the "ooooh...we just have got to carve pumpkins together this year" and then everyone gathers together (except for the lucky few who have to work or have other excuses to get out of it) and b1tches about how nasty scraping out the guts is and blah blah blah...

Made a change for the better this year. Bought the pumpkins, took them out into the woods with some friends, set them up in a safe area with a big ol' dirt wall w/very few large rocks behind them and proceeded to "carve" faces in them with a 22. I didn't try the 45 because I'd probably have to lay down to shoot it since I'm a small-framed female...besides, those who shot the 45 blew the frickin' face right off the pumpkin. You should have seen the exit wounds on those babies - OUCH!

If you have the ability to do this SAFELY, I strongly recommend it. Totally funny and I actually got two good eyes into my pumpkin before I completely messed it up.

Yeah...I guess I might be a redneck out here in Eastern WA/Northern ID but it sure was fun.
