Hey guys
Pretty much just starting out, but have been wakeboarding and skateboarding for a long time.
Did some riding on a Cassette deck the other day with some skate shoes, and found I had no feel at all. I found I had a lot more control and balance without shoes.
So why wear them? Is it pretty much because your feet can cop a beating on the board when you're trying tricks? |

i ride a foam top so it doesnt realy matter weather youve got shoes or not. if i want 2 try tricks or rails u should definately wear shoes it makes it alot easir you wont have to worry about hurting tour to or steping on the fin (that still hurts a little with shoes) i always ride with shoes now because i kick kick my board harder and i guess yu get used to wearing shoes after awhile. i hope i explained it ok. hey CHE BLANC i decided im going to go with the gate i think id have alot more fun with the higher ends because ive been skating all my life and ive got alot more tricks i can do with the gate rather than a regular deck . . . hey is anyone going from the outside of the wake -olleing-over the wake and manualing tricks-across to the next wake these days? i think that would be pretty fun if u could stay on endge and get across quick enough. like that 1 foot manual idea or pop shovits into maunals. _________________ dont put something off till tomorrow when you can do it today. |

Thanks for the replies. I'm just doing standard HS wake to wake jumps and some non wake to wake grabs right now. Still having dilemmas about how much of my riding I should devote to skating, as opposed to boarding. |

i started out with no shoes....but sooned learned(IMHO) that if you want to progress, your gonna need shoes. Shoes provide you with support, you'll eventually get use to the no feeling(u'll start to feel w/shoes, uh kinda), and u'll find that your able to bust tricks alot easier, and you would be more likely to stick your landings. I ride without shoes every once in a while if i just wanna surf around but thats about it. |
