Busted Ear Drum

i busted my ear drum last friday. the doctor said it was infected cause of the lake water and that i couldnt ride for 2 WEEKS! and it hurts more than anything

has this happened to anyone else? im king of the unnormal injuries Laughing

Happened to me last year, the year before that just a bad infection. This year I got lucky, no infection. They are horrible. For me I always tried unpopping it by yawning and what not and every once in a while it would get jerked the wrong way or something and it would kill. Just take care of it so it goes away as soon as possible.

that sucks. but i am out of riding for a few months of

ridehatzic, yeh, the doctor said it would heal itself in like 10 days. but right now theres a big hole in it or something lol. gives me an excuse for not listening to people Smile

. i got my foot ran over by the forklift at my last job. nothing broken, but i did come out with a some gnarly road rash and a 'pinched nerve' Cool

. unfortunately its been 6 months and it still bothers me.

JamesBoardr, once your ear heals we will have an injury off. first person to obtain the gnarliest injury in a period of 13 days is the winner. the prize consists of a goody bag of percosetts and vicadin.

i did that last year and my ear bleed for 3 days straight. it sucks that there is nothing you can do but let it heal by its self

preforated mine last summer on a hard slam while on a wakeboard.

it sucked but didn't hurt really. i rode the next weekend.

I think I just busted mine...I can't hear except for a hollow echo like sound, kind of like when you put your ear up to a seashell. It doesn't hurt too bad yet but every couple minutes it feels like the pressure swells up and I get a weird pain.

Did you guys go to the emergency room or is there nothing they can do? infection a possibility?

alright, so I went to the er and a perforated eardrum is what I got, sucky, especially cause time left on the water is limited, winter is near

JamesBoardr, yup, when i was little my mom was cleaning my ear and i flinched and BAM! out shot the blood. Sucks, cuz it hurts even now to dive more than 4-5 feet under water.

JamesBoardr, once youve gotten that shizzle checked out, youre gonna mix a little bit of hydrogen peroxide with some rubbing alcohol. i call that shizzle ear juice. i guess keep it in a little container you can carry around when you go ride. but yeah, get one of those little medicine dropper things and put one squirt in each ear after every time your done on the water. that will kill all the bacteria and shizzle you aqcuired in your ears from the water. that should help prevent it bro.

mapter, the doctor told me you're not supposed to do that if you busted your ear drum because it will go through the hole in the ear drum. but in normal circumstances it is very good for your ears
