im pretty new to wakeskating, ive only ridden 4 times, but i hear alot about "sanding rails" and i was curious to why people do it? is it something everyone does to improve the pop or what?
sandings rails affect how the board rides through the water and how it displaces water. the sharper the edges the more it sits on top and is somewhat sketchier(atleast to me), a rounder edge sits lower kinda. the main reason for my sanded edges would be for lip tricks. i think an integrity needs the edges sanded atleast some for me to have any consistency on lip tricks, but its by no means a complete standard.
and sanding rails doesnt apply for every board. omen, integs, and maybe a few more have the edges sandable. i mean, you can sand any board but i dont think id get a cassette and sand the wood down. and if you did you would most likely want to re laminate the edges.
and use the search cause there are A LOT of threads on this.
