alright, so I got an 04 wakeskate edition seadoo, and yeah I know it's really a wakeboard edition but not mine, mines a wakeskate edition..........

anyway, I got 320 hours on it, how long are these puppies lasting for you Floridians who wakeskate everyday all year? the guys at my service shop are baffled cause they've never seen a ski with more than 100 hours on it, how many hours are you guys skating on?

I want input cause I'm curious how long to expect this sucka to last and cause I owe about 6300 on it yet and there's one for sale a few lakes away for 7900 with only 33 hours on it. I should roll up at night and switch em up. I wish I could just sell it back to the shop for what I owe, have no loan on mine anymore and get a new loan for the 33 hour one. Is there a way to get an approximate value of a used ski, what's mine worth? whats the other one worth?

I don't know that much about jet skis but they are probably built to run a bit more than they are, its just most people are to lazy/busy to take them out more.

Same thing goes on hours on boats around here, but ours has 1300 hours on it and it still goes ok (granted it has had SOME issues.)

And if you're riding it regularly its probably going to be alot happier than if its sitting in a shed 99% of the time.

My 04' has about 175 hours on it and I have never had any problems with it. Just make sure that you bring it in for maintenance once every 50-100 hours

labellethrasher,
I worked at a small jet ski rental place for about a year and a half. We had all fourstrokes and most of them where still running well at the 600 hour mark. From my past experiances all the "small" things count on a jet ski. Like spraying the engine down with silicone with your done using it and always changin the filters, plugs and oil. Just stuff like that.

so you have to spray the engine down with silicone? I have never heard of such things. Do they do that when you bring it to the shop for an oil changes?

You don't have to do anything. Its just preventive maintenance and we changed our own oil every 20-25 hours, since jet skis rev so high and usually get beat on pretty hard. It also save you a shizzle load of money doing it yourself.

I've got 650+ saltwater hours on mine and have only had it break down once and that was my fault. Go yamaha!
