Which is better for wakeskating? Are there more places to ride in one than the other? I have a job opportunity in Florida and need to chose between Sarasota or Miami. Any information about these cities is appreciated. |

I don't know really, Miami is nice and warm year round but the lakes are limited. To have your boat in your back yard you pretty much have to buy/rent a house. There are only a handful of lakes that you can ride on. Of course, there is always the ocean... If you can afford a house on a lake (that's rideable - which costs more then a lake front home) then I'd say Miami will work nicely for you.
...
Just out of curiosity, what kind of job is it? _________________ .:Wake UP Films:.

i dunno if u move to sarasota u can ride with me, justin scott, nick t, stu, drew daniello...also its only 2 hours away from o-town. siesta key is a badass beach and got some good bars out there too.
im not racist but miami has alittle bit too much culture for me lol
u should really just check out both if u can. its a totally personal decision _________________ "it is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation." |

Sarasota has a lot of glassy smooth waterways and intercoastals and all that good stuff. It's minutes away from Venice and Anna Maria Island, which both have amazing riding spots. The riding scene here is cool, it's very chill, and there's people that ride, but it's never crowded riding anywhere. Everyone around here who rides knows each other, and it's much cleaner water than what I saw in Miami. And the city is much cleaner and less crime and all that, better beaches, skate park... etc. _________________ √

stompin9s, , ur right about that though thats probably the biggest downside. but if u get into your own little neighborhood you should be alright. best thing to do is move on a canal. cheaper and glassier. just make sure its a wide one. |

Thanks for the info guys. Are most of the places in Sarasota saltwater/brackish; that's what I've heard. Also, does the Ski Rixen really suck? |

Yeah, most of the areas around Sarasota are either salt or brackish. I live just north of Sarasota, and I head out to Lake June whenever I get a chance. Its about an hour away, but it's a nice place to ride. I try to avoid saltwater whenever I can, just a personal preference though. |

houses are insanely expensive in sarasota right now. to get a piece of shizzle on a saltwater canal youre lookin at 500k or like 2k/month rent............. but its nice and clean and pretty, but also theres like 80% old people 65yrs old ++++ which call cops on you for everything.... |

myers, Yeah it sucks though when you have to ride down the canal for fifteen minutes at idle just to get out on the open water It's worth it once you get out there though, haha. |
