Let me first say that I am an intermediate boarder, so my review wont be like Nekkie's in depth, pro skater reviews of the Omen and Integs. But I will say with confidence that this is a solid board. When I first got it I was so stoked I was doing carpet shuvs. The first thing I noticed is the solid feel and very little, if any flexion. 180 shuvs on the water are effortless, and there is plenty of surface area to land on. The marine sealant truly makes it super slick on the water, and it can be squirrley getting used to the feel, especially when you go finless like me. I don't know really how it rides with fins. I also love the feel of the kick tails, they feel like my Santa Cruz deck on the water. Sorry I can't tell you about the pop and ollies yet, as I could only do so much in a couple sessions. Also, I can't compare it to other wood decks because this is the only one I've experienced. Anyway, thanks again Kevin for such a solid board and prompt service, I believe anyone could agree you have wakeskate fabrication down to a science, IMO its definitely a board that one would never grow out of as their skills progress. |

figured i might as well give a review as well. ive ridden the board probably 8-10 times total, and i like it. i definately feel it has a lot more pop than the other boards ive ridden (LF control and hyperlite scape) as well as a lot more predictable. it was a little squirrely getting used to the board, but now i feel more in control on this board than a wakeboard. ive only been wakeskating from the beginning of this season, and i can land backside pop shuv its, and very close to landing 360 shuv its and fs shuv its, same thing with my brother and he can consistantly do w2w and bs shuv its on the board.
there are a couple downfalls with this board though. first, after about 3 sessions the board was warped/twisted. not so badly that it rides badly, but definately there. i think this is partly my fault as i left it in my boat under the bow in 100+ weather for 2 days. i understand its wood and i shouldntve left it in there so its partly my fault, and it hasnt gotten worse since. also, on the bottom of the board after just the first session the grain in the wood started sticking out. now you can see and feel the bottom is very rough with the wood grain. not sure if its normal with wood decks or not, but for 100 bucks i am still very happy with it, if i paid 300 for it my feelings may differ. |

i used to have the movement 40'. i got to ride the board about 5 times until it got stolen off of my friends dock. i loved the board and had no complaints. the construction of the board seemed the best of any wood skate that i have ever ridden. i also was able to get my 3 shuvs alot more consistent and even landed my first front big!!
but then i dislocated my shoulder and the deck got stolen on the same night _________________ "it is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation." |
