Skateboarding helps. The pop could differ though but overall is the same.

IceKPG just make sure your over the board and bend you knees. as far as ollies, skateboarding would help you feel balance and the movements. but deffinately not neccisary. just practice them alot. and it will come. good luck man.

Ok so i just bought a lf faction 40" to start off wakeskating. I got up my first try and could edge fine but when i started to try some ollies i just failed miserably. I can ollie a skateboard pretty well. I was trying all my ollies in the middle of the wakes so next time i am going to edge out and try. But it seemed that every time i pushed my back foot down kinda like on a wakeboard i just lost my balance and the board went nowhere? So if i speed up and take an edge should it be much easier? and can you allow well just inside the wake if the boats moving slower. I think i was doing like 15-18 at the time.

Pconn5, go faster for sure. you need surface tension to make it happen. and edge out a few feet from the wake when you try it. keep at it

Should my front foot be closer to the middle of the board or towards the front more. It seemed that when i tried them the board just fell away and went out of control. Like i know that on a wakeboard you can bounce on the tail when going for an ollie how come i couldn't on the wakeskate? was it my speed or just getting used to the size and feel?

Well got out today and attempted some ollies with basically no luck. I would rock forward then push down with my back foot and try to jump up with the board but nothing. I got one that was a few inches off the water and then the rest i landed on the front of the board and face planted forward.

just pump your front board then dig your backfoot. once you lift your front foot up, lift your backfoot to level the board. just don't worry about falling down..if you keep thinking that u'll fall down that will prevent you from doing the ollie.

Help me on the timing...
When you push down your back foot should you be lifting your front foot at the same time or delay it a little?
