|
|
So i've recently moved and ended up about 20min. from a cable park. I plan on being there quite a bit and my old Litmus just won't cut it anymore (plus it seems like rails will make it a sad panda and it'll fall apart.
I'm learning line loading tricks and also plan on hitting rails, so what's the best option? I hear Slingshot makes a pretty solid board and a lot of people out there seem to ride them (i'm just searching the interwebz because it seems like the park is full of slingshot fanboys and I don't want to fall in to hype without doing my research) |

| GnarShredd, the new slingshots seem great for the cable park because they now use a ptex base like the ltd integs and snowboards so if you gouge them you can fix it using ptex candels. they also have abs rails which is pretty strong and you can reshape the rails. the LF grind series boards have a ptex base as well and are more of a traditional wakeboard with bottom features. |

He means flats tricks.
GnarShredd, the best boards for cable are continuous rocker boards. Riding a slingshot, or a big 3 stage rocker is not great for the cable because the edge is a little slower then a continuous rocker. I would the either the hyperlite marek, pulse, liquid force witness grind, or a gator militant.
Just curious, what cable did you move to? _________________ -andrew- |

Mccormick's. It throws me off because it's clockwise and I've only ridden counterclockwise cables. I'm goofy footed so it's a kind of a different experience for me. Hopefully it'll motivate me to get my switch riding in shape.
I never got to ride a cable that often (save an occasional trip to OWC) and picked up backrolls pretty quickly about a month ago. I'm hoping to be at the park about twice a week and am just super stoked to be picking up a wakeboard again. (Don't get me wrong though, wakeskating is still no.1 on the charts and no.1 in my heart). I've got to take a couple months to save up the cash but I just want something that will give me the best pop for flat tricks andl last a long time on rails . (something with a little flex to it would be fun also) |

im pretty sure that slingshot makes a board w/ a continous rocker
also check out the old HL Roam, always seemed like a fun board for cable laps...u can probably find one super cheap on e-bay
and if u can hold out, Mutiny and Arson are coming out with waterboards... _________________ "it is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation." |

| ZackFL, are you down there often? I went saturday for the first time. Hopefully it's going to be a once or twice a week thing from here on out. |

| It's not that bad. You'd be good with just a heater top. I forgot mine at my parent's house last time i was there to visit though so I had to ride with my non-CGA vest (oneill) underneath one of their CGA vests. I went for 4 hours and didn't get that cold until the sun started to go down. It should be warming up soon enough though. Depending on when I get out of work I'm going either tomorrow or Thursday night around 5:00ish. |

| Thanks for all of your help guys. I've been doing research and it looks like the LF Witness Grind is a good fit for me. (although if anyone has heard any major negatives about them, let me know before I drop $400, haha. I like to do my research) |

| ZackFL, I was out there on Sunday for a couple of hours. I'm looking to hopefully go after work sometime this week and definitely this weekend sometime. Do you know if they've extended the hours due to the wonder that is daylight savings? |
