o i gotcha. that makes sense. we could but we dont have a power saw, we broke the one we had cutting the legs. the blade is loose and wiggles. it just happened we didnt do anything. how would we get the things in?? like would we have to undo the whole rail or just slip them in? and could we cut the boards without a powersaw?

what kinda saw is it? if it is a circular saw tightening up the nut on the outside of the blade should stop the wobble. there s usually a button to push to lock the spindle so you can tighten the nut without turning the blade. but seriously man, havent you ever heard of a hand saw? your just cutting 2x4s. sack up and saw that shizzle.
doesnt anyones dad teach their kids to build stuff anymore?

ride_high, haha kids play video games now, instead of building tree houses
you could run another 2x4 along either side of the rail. turn it vertical and screw it in the the rail and the legs.
and id spike your supports if the ground is pretty solid

buy threaded poles and metal brackets and stainless screws and just use that, they wont break and it works really well. It will also go into the ground better than wood.
