Kicked Out

Got kicked out of my fav spot this Wednesday and the Ranger didn't even have a clear explanation. At first he said we needed a flag, next we had to take the "contraption" off the public dock, then the last straw was when he said it was a liabilty and that we had to go. Sucked since it took me over an hour to set up a 16 foot rail then didn't even get to hit it. What have other officers been telling you guys?

awatts, that sucks man. I've never heard someone say that you needed a flag before.. too funny. Since they have booted you out once you should call up someone with authority over the spot and see if you can get permission to do it. You never know, you might get someone cool who will be down to let you winch.

On another note... Do you want to ocean winch this weekend?

Chris...I'll let you know asap...I have to work tomorrow but might have some time Sunday. Bean Hollow rocked a few weeks ago(4-5 foot swells that were easy to get into) but it is kinda off a small area and we are the center of attention. I should know by tomorrow morning.

we drive an hour to the beach....go to take the winch of my hitch and DVSKATE realizes he put the lock on for the winch on the wrong side of the hitch, because now we couldnt reach the key hole with the key to unlock the winch. After sitting there dumbfounded for a couple of minutes we decide to drive to ACE hardware to snap the key the shorter so it could fit and we could take the winch of my truck. So everything goes smooth we arrive back at the beach as were walking up the ramp we hear " hey where are you going with that " I turn around to just spot a squad car directly behind me. We explain what we are about to do and he says " you can't take that on the beach " we kind of ignore him and he tells us " Hey its illegal to bring engines on beaches...." we ignored him again and kept walking towards the beach however his last resort was to threaten us with a ticket so we bucked

The first time I went winching was with my cousin jeff. I weazled my way into going first. I ran out a 1000 feet on the beach, eagerly awaiting my first winch pull. I walked all the way out and the beach patrol ran up on me in his truck and ruined my day. That walk back was 10 times worse then getting owned in the furthest corner of owc and making the walk of shame back.

kyle41, haha man i completely forgot about that... he said it was too dangerous for the people swimming cause the line could hurt them... thing was it was January or something and there wasnt anyone in sight for as far as we could see in both directions... dude was just being a dick...

then we went to another beach and the patrol lady asked us what we were carrying to the beach (referring to the winch) and i told her it was my new grill lol

Ha. We were setting up my winch in the parking lot and a Patrick Air Force Base cop pulled in and was like whats that? I thought he was going to shut us down, but i told him it was a high speed winch for pulling people across the water.
