Calskater23, i love doin shuvs with fins. it comes natural to pop a lot and most of the times shuvs are huge!!
i was using 1,5 but i hurt my ancle turning from switch to regular and now i use 0.6 which are better also for rails

i do it no fins and its fine, i can do it w/ fins too... its just preference..
but i think that riding no fins is alot more forgiving!

its all personal preference

try riding finless and if you like it better then ride finless.

or you can just try usin a smaller fin 1.5 is pretty big.

Try both. And more importantly, give them both a chance. So don't just go out and try finless for 5 minutes and then decide you like fins more. A lot of people don't give time to get used to each way of riding. One day ride fins and one day ride without. Learn to carve and do everything comfortably with and without, only then will you really know for yourself which is best.

honestly if you cant ollie to well, finless is the way to go cause if your board isnt coming out of the water then as soon at it goes sideways there goes your board the your in the air thinking .. "damn this going going to hurt"

I think when riding finless and trying shuvs you have more of a chance of doing a "surface shuv" which is why I use fins cause' it's almost guaranteed to get pop off the water.
