| I was wondering what the differance between the bi-levels and the concaves. I started last year and got a cheap divoted bi-level but I hear alot about how concaves are nice. I looked at this board made by NewWakeSkates mogley-39.5 Andrew. I was wondering if this board was a good deck for how much it costs($103). And what the change is in riding. |

is it brand new?
if so 103 for the mogley is a pretty good price, you'll notice the concave will feel a lot lighter although you may lose some consistency in your tricks, the light weight will probably help you progress and learn some harder tricks. |

kraus6451, Hundred-dollar board, custom graphic = VERY fresh!
My friend actually just got his mogley in a couple days ago. They're a great work for sure. In my opinion (coming from riding a devotid bilevel) it's easiest to go to either a NEW or a Liquid Force.. Something about how they pop i guess. Maybe it's a similar rocker. I recently took a little break from my bilevel because i hadn't progressed in quite a while, boy do i wish i had a good wood concave to ride while i was off it. I just got my CWB Onset in the mail though so i'll let you guys know how that is! But anyways, going from a bilevel to a concave will definitely throw your consistency off for a bit, but like soulprogression said, i did learn some new tricks and relearned some old ones.
As far as actual differences in how they feel go, Popping it feels more solid (less bouncy if you know what i mean), it may ride higher in the water, you don't have to put as much strength into spinning it (sounds nice but it's really hard to get used to and causes me to have a little bit of trouble popping things well on a concave at first). Lastly, the concave will be a bit different. On the mogley it's a nice smooth trasition, but is still pretty mellow compared to a bilevel. It's a good shape though and definitely not too little.
Hope that helped man _________________ - Evan Molina |
