yeah i live in florida, but im a pvssy and with the hopefully numerous cold fronts this winter i want to surf more so i want to get a wetsuit. there are so many brands and stuff i have no idea where to start. the new 08's all look pretty sick, but does anyone have any specifics they know are good?

one thing I learned on here and through experience is how the seams are treated. The first wetsuit I bought was a jet pilot shaun murray model, and I only began to recognize the differences when I wore an o'neill suit. I got colder in the o'neill wet suit much faster, and that was when I came to learn about seam treatment, like taped seams vs stiched and untaped seams. The o'neill did not have taped seams, the jet pilot did. Also, people that I went riding with had sick o'neill suits that were almost dry suits, and their seams were treated on the inside and outside of the wetsuit (I think they were coated with a rubber type material).

So, I'm not an expert on wetsuits. I know something was recently said in the dry suit thread that was started within the past few days. But from personal experience, I can say that seams are important.

well, I recommend that you go to ron jons or any surf shop for that matter and talk to some employees, ask for their input, and try some suits on too see how they feel.

how cold does the water get? If you're talking wakeskating in florida, it really isn't gonna matter. You are gonna be sweating in a full suit, i don't know about the ocean though. I think oneill's fit best if you have longer legs and arms and a shorter torso.

Xcel Infinity 3/2 is what I've been rockin the last two years. Its really comfy and pretty warm, I've used it with snow on the ground a few times.

I'm getting a 6/5/4 hooded suit this weekend so they're be no water too cold for a skate or surf.

just go to play it again sports and get a 3/2, or if you want a new one, go to costco and get the cheapest one they have. I cant imagine the water in florida ever gets lower than 60 degrees right?
