dude, im not tryin to be a dick, but just jump in the water, you get used to it fast enough, i think that wet suits are just a waste of money. do a dock start and you be fine for a lil while, until you fall

Actually no they don't. A dry suite will keep you totally dry. You can wear normal clothes under a dry suite and they will not get wet (if your seals don't leak). A wet suite allows water into the suite.

Well back to the posters original question, just go to your local boardshop and see what they have, they should be able to tell you all about them. Depending on where you live too, lots of times in the spring board shops will have good prices on full suits because they are looking to clear some out to get the spring suits in for summer.
You can probably get a decent 3/2 full suit for like 100 bucks. or you could pay up to 350 for a 4/3 super taped, double stitched, feels like a jacuzzi in freezing water wet suit.
And for all the tough guys who just jump in the cold water, you guys can have your shrinkage and shivver on the boat all day, i'll think you are tuff, meanwhile i'll wear a full suit and be comfortable and warm.

I just picked up a Rip Curl Elasto full suit 2 weeks ago. It's a 3/2 and when I rode this past weekend, I was so toasty warm and comfortable. I like the Elasto suits cause they tend to be a stretchier material than non-elastos. I'm really happy with mine. I rode in a Body Glove shorty too, but it wasn't near as comfortable as the Rip Curl.
I was frig'n cold in the shorty though. I don't have enough "natural insulation" as my friends who trunked it.
