I'm really amazed !!!! In Europe, everybody was thinking that Grubb was paid by DC....
If they give stuff to grubb, if they help Justin Stephens, we can imagine that they support wake/wakeskating.... I think that Danny Way is not very involved in the marketing of his firm...
But in fact, I think DC is looking for new ways to be shown to the public. A few years ago, they started with motocross. Tomorrow, they will be in music (Ozzy has his own pro model with DVS...).
The Skate market grew up every day. Its going to explode...

Yeah, I thought he received a pay-check from DC as well..... But who really cares anyway? I'm not running to my local skateshop to buy a pair of DC's just because Grubb wears them. In northern Europe, DC has kind of a goofy, mainstream, stamp... (aka NOT so hardcore....) It's good that some companies support our "sport" but I don't buy stuff, just because of that. I buy stuff (for example shoes) because they look good, feels good and hopefully works good. I don't care how many DC stickers Grubb has on his board or how many shoes he gets for free... But if you do, go ahead and buy a pair, it's a free world... (the most terrible thing I ever seen are these "Pro-Sticker packs" you can buy so you can have the exact same sticker set-up as your favorite pro... embarrasing.....) Bang Head

so dc does sponsor wakeskating?! so confused right now...they have to, maybe danny way needs to get his sh*t together, or maybe he's just stubborn and doesnt want to admit that his trendy skate shoe sponsor is doing alot more than just making shoes for skateboarding.

Didn't mean to cause soo much confusion here guys, it was just a question and the rest of it was just me backing up my statements. I heard from good sources in the industry(not the wakeboard intdustry) that DC has never given any $$$ to this industry, that's including to Justin Stephens movies, people hook people up. Also DC in not just Danny's shoe sponsor, he helps run that company.

If they are not paying grubb but only hook him up with some free stuff, why would Grubb do that. I am sure the're a lot of shoe companies who would like to sponsor Grubb. Because they can better sponsor a top wakeskater than a wakeboarder, as you know you needs shoes to wakeskate.

funnyfeni, Hahaha, totally agree. Same here: i have supermarket @$$ shoes. They work nice and i won't throw them away. Wal-Mart's CEO doesn't know what wakeskating is, but in a kind of way he supports it... Laughing

I would imagine that they are paying him because malibu gives him free boats; thats a little more than just a pair of shoes. Just based on the stickers on his board they are the same size. Very stupid just to say that cuz of his stickers but thats what I think...
