Hey bmr,
you're right about one thing.... someone has exactly the same problem - me. I'm running 7" spool with 10t - 54t , so ratios are about the same.
Difference is i'm on a honda 8hp, but ... |

Howdy,
I had it a year now and just noticed that the driver wheel - the one with the 10t sprocket on it - has an adjustment.
The green spring that sits inside the wheel can be put in 3 differe ... |

@ MOJO - Cheers, I guess more torque is good for deep starting....
... when you say less consistent pull, do you just mean slower?
If we get up and planning quicker, then full throttle should be fou ... |

a lot of spools use cutting discs with good results,
we used 2 kart brake discs which are plenty strong enough and not
too expensive either, plus they're easy to mount to an axle
because thats what ... |

that video is a bit old now, we just narrowed the spool to only 7" but it just seems to have slowed it down a bit too much, is a smaller drum the right way to go? The trouble with ... |

Thanks Montgomery, sounds like just the same problem as me.
I can refit the 10/60 easy enough, and making the spool smaller feels like the right thing to do, but taking an inch and a half off the ... |

Hey friends,
We built this winch, and it works great but it just wont deep water start us.
On dry land it'll pull a land board at over 20mph, but its just too damn slow to get planning on the wate ... |
