I was just browsing LFM's site and saw that Aaron Reed is having his own wakeskate invitational called Arete sometime in the end of March. I know he had a lot of input on the toejam contest gaps and we can all expect something special from this number. Anybody know anything?

If anyone bothers to look all the info for it is on the front page of wakeskating.com. If your too lazy here it is below:

Arete: An all wakeskating event
According to Liquid Force's latest edition of "The Truth", Aaron Reed is the latest rider who's decided to advance wakeskating in the form of a rider run, invite only event.

Slated to take place at the end of March, this event is different than most, with half of the proceeds raised by Aaron's sponsors going to a local Orlando charity.

The competition, named after the Greek word Arete stands for "Virtue, Excellence, and Goodness." Aaron went on to say, "I wanted to create an event based on these qualities... we wakeskaters will be able to give back something to the community and will be striving for excellence on the water...I’m pretty pumped to have my own event and invite all my friends to ride with me!"

The Keymaster, TRUE THAT.

Yeah having a comp thats invite only is wayyyyyyyy cool, I meen that way all your friends get magazine coverage and you get to controll who people think are cool. You get to play God for the day. Sounds like a great Idea to me.............. Man this certainly is progressing the sport, I meen who in the hell wants to give anyone else a shot ??? Exposure, Exposure exposure.......... If you cant see that this is a HUGE marketing ploy by A-Reed and LF then your blind and nothing I say will make you see other wise.

(i hope you pick up on the sarcasm cause i'm laying it on pretty thick.)

Sincerly
-mr. Negative.

(I cant wait for someone to say how dumb I am. hurry up do it)

yah they need to do what the toe jam does and have heats for all diffrent riders(i think thats how it goes atleast), that way you can ride and if you do good you can move up and everyone gets a shot at it ,Anyways itll probably be pretty swet though Razz

integrity640 there are only a few places for people to qualify for the toe jam and they do that before the comp starts.

freerider4 everyones entitled to their own opinions. Still though i think for the sport to progress taht means new riders and stuff. I think its sweet hes hosting it but I hope it a wide variety of people who are invited this year.........just my 2 cents

PIRATE you don't think the toe jam is a huge marketing deal for oneil? If you all want an event for new and upcoming riders start one cause thats the best way you guys are going to get. Put your words into actions instead of whining on the internet.

I think ones like the Under360 Grind and TSR's Lonestar Wakeskate Jam really kick ass and are pushing the sport contest wise and new riders are being seen
