Sounds like Fox is pulling the plug on it.

Reports are that Fox will be re-branding a few of their channels in the spring. Speed Channel will become "Fox Sports 1," and Fuel TV will become "Fox Sports 2" similar to how ESPN and ESPN 2 work.

So NASCAR, MLB, MMA, NCAA on the main network, and I guess you could keep your fingers crossed that some of the Fuel TV staff will be retained on the 'Fox Sports 2' network to add some X-Treme sports programming to help fill the 2am time slots?

The website below says only 40,000 people were watching Fuel during 'prime time' hours, and that's 3rd lowest of any Nielsen-rated network. Does anyone here even watch it anymore?

I don't get Fuel TV anymore, but last time I was somewhere that had it I flipped it on and it was all UFC 24/7. No action sports whatsoever

See ya at the crossroads Fuel TV.

My cable provider never offered it. I set it up on my parents DVR so that I could watch Pull whenever I was over.

Canceled mine once they put face punching dood bros on it 90% of the time. It's a shame... You can't tell me action sports popularity has fallen that far.

Ill still watch it, but it's only for the AMA supercross/ motocross races and every now and then some other random shows will come on. 94% of the time it's something UFC related and I skip right over it.

I don't watch anymore either. It turned into something weird--mma fighting, old soccer games, motocross stuff and then old kung fu movies. It sucks because i remember getting that station and immediately watching snowboarding. Now there's nothing that resembles that original vibe.

I wonder how many people watched it in its original form, vs this new form where 40,000 people decided to tune in.

man back in like 07 it was a ritual for my buddy and i to skip class, go shred until sundown, then come home and watch some dvr'd pull episodes. that was a magical time in my life that ignited my wakeskate fire.

i guess now with all the internet videos no one watches tv anymore, i don't even have cable these days.

i have also bought the pull box set and seriously watched every episode at least 30 times. it got me through some tough injuries and rehabs, and winters.

when will they release the pull season 3? i know they started showing a bunch of new episodes right before the fall of fuel.

Unfortunately, it looks like ratings in 2012 were higher than 2011 in pretty much every category. Almost double in some cases. Look for a press release titled 'fuel tv continues summer heat wave.'

I loved Fuel until the fighting took over. When they are standing up it is aight, but when they go to the mat I cannot tell if they are fighting or having sex. If that is your thing then ok, but I would rather gouge my eyes out with a butter knife. And yes, RIP Built to Shred.

I think the real question to be asked in this is whether or not that many people considered action sports to be that bad that they felt the need to replace them entirely with UFC.
wakeskating is becoming completely invisible to the public eye, along with all action sports.
at least some brands and companies are trying to main stream it all still, like red bull. when they did their Gives You Wings commercial last year, i would drop whatever the hell i was doing just to watch one and a half seconds of brian grubb riding, because at least it was some wakeskating on tv. it wasnt alot, but i would still take one and a half seconds over none any day.

here's that video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9pKUMvN7SU

Well...yeah. The die-hard MMA crowd is large, as evidenced by the 100+ pay per view events. But it's not an issue of 'is action sports that bad,' I think it was more of a situation where Fox was expanding their sports catalog and wanted the 'land grab' that the MMA would bring. And you could guess that their business staff had a multi-year plan in place that would eventually lead to their ESPN-like channel line up with soccer, football, basketball and MMA coverage. If/where action sports fit in with this is probably a very low priority as far as they're concerned. It's purely a number$ game for them.
