I thought this deserved it's own thread instead of the 2011 one and the Boston Whaler one.

So after seeing the Craigslist thread about the prototype Ridiculous Boat (http://tampa.craigslist.org/psc/boa/3218075725.html) I emailed Ryan Walsh to see if they were still producing these. Turns out they are going to make a 16 foot Jon Boat prototype called the "Monarch." He said the pricing will be around $16,500 and will come with a complete bow-to-stern warranty. Just thought I would let the wakeskating community know whats going on with these Ridiculous boats. Very Happy

really depends on what engine, but seems overpriced to me. dirty fat sacks was $5k less w/ a 90hp yamaha (10 years ago).

I completely agree with both of you. It's way overpriced and the graphics are just too flashy for me.

It's cool and all but yeah you could build your own at half the cost if not less than that if you can find some good deals on a used john boat and used motor. Just gotta get alittle durty! If they could keep the price down below 10,000 I think they would be easier to market and sell. For 16k you can find a nice used run about and have more room for people and have a larger engine than just a 30hp honda.

for $16.5k, i would pick a new 18' aluminum center console with a 90hp over a used anything any day of the week.

The 14 footer with the motor and coming in under 9 with the trailer seems decently priced.

why is the console forward towards the bow? seems like it would only be useful if its just a rider and shredder... we use a yeti full of beer to solve that issue!

Kinda makes me want to take on the project for a john boat like that myself. Thoughts on how easy it is to pull a light boat with a high tower like that? feel like the driver would be correcting back & forth.
would like to see a vid of someone riding behind it.

Lemmons has been riding behind a set up like that for years. tons on videos on here of his "Lemmonscraft"

but yes you're right.. you can't cut out and pull hard against the boat like you can on a full sized wakeboat.
