The theory of relativity in wakeskating

So its been a while since Ive lurked the forums here, but i thought id share something Ive always found very interesting in wakeskating. I started out knowing nothing about wakeskating when i joined this forum many moons ago, and some odd years and months later Ive met some incredible people, shredded quite a few places, and had some of the best memories of my life wakeskating with some fellow peeps on here.

Anyways to the point after the precursor......I find it absolutely wild how the wakeskate community can bring so many strangers together that happen to know one another through a friend thats a thousand miles away theyve never met.... for ex I used to bs with Daniel on here alllll the time back in hs when i lived up in indiana and always kept meaning to meet up in TX and shred but never could quite line up our schedules.....well 3 years later i posted a roomate wanted ad on here and what would ya know, Daniel is living 10 miles from me and is in need of a place to stay, 3 years later Ive got a million different memories of places weve been, shredded, and just good times in general.

Ive met up with people in michigan, florida, texas, indiana and a few others just through ws.com and its crazy how many times ive met people and theyre like oh you know so n so?!? Facebook has only made this realization even more for me, ill see friends i know outside of ws.com that will tag people on here in their posts and its just like no efin way...what a small world....the entire culture of wakeskating, wether it be the riding, people, places, music, etc has brought so many people together for a common cause its crazy.....for ex to on Pandora i always jam out to minus the bear radio and every couple weeks ill hear a song from a wake video that i havent heard in yeeaaarrrss, its like damn, what a small ass world.

Anyways sorry to ramble on, not sure if I really communicated my point across clearly, but hopefully yall get what Im saying and realize each and everyone of us is involved in a culture and community that has ties that the avg person just doesnt realize.....

it truly is a sport that is unique in it's way of bringing people together.

for example, if you were in to baseball and you already graduated college but love to play, is there really a website that brings tons of baseball addicts together? none that i know of. baseball might not be the best example since its takes more people to play but that's what makes this sport special. you take a sport that could be very individual based and make it something a group can really get into and have a good time with. it's truly amazing.

i don't think many sports have the ability to do this so we should consider ourselves the lucky ones Smile

oh and on a side note, minus the bear fvcking killlllls and i cant wait for the new album Very Happy

Its beautiful when you can make it across the country and feel at home. Its beautiful when someone you have never met can become one of your closest friends in just a few short days of riding. Its beautiful when your mindset merges with someone else and the combination of ideas spark creativity, turning something you already were in love with into a blank canvas with no limitations. Wakeskating is beautiful. Im stoaked to have met everyone I have already and almost can't contain myself from getting in a car and driving to every one of your houses just to meet you. Ws.com, for all your ups and downs, for all the memories for every member, and for the future, You are Beautiful.

What an awesome write up, i feel the same way and can relate to so much you're saying.
Wakeskating brings people together and strikes a connection through the love of water.

I feel what your saying. Most of my best friends in the last five years were met through wake sports. I just stumbled on here in the last 6 months so I hope to get to shred and share the stoke w as many of you guys as possible. COME WINCH W ME!!!!!

this is like an imaginary place where you can talk about crazy whack tricks in far away places with people in distant lands...thing is.....it's lughit.......and it's up to u on how far u wanna push yourself to make those hopes and dreams a reality.
