Heads up: This is a rant, gotta get it off my chest.
I've only rode twice and it was it was cable since baytown throwdown memorial day weekend. The closest cable is about 1hr 30mins. away and during the weekdays I only have enough time to catch a 2hr set. Its frustrating as hell living on the water and never being able to find a pull. Was supposed to go ride with some strappers last Sunday but they felt it to be a better idea to have everyone on the boat wackboarding. On a positive note though I got a guy that works in my building renting a boat this upcoming Sunday and he asked if I could come along and show him the lake and teach him how to drive the boat. He said if I'd teach him to drive he'd pull me on the skate so hopefully all goes according to plan and I can catch a set or 2. Sorry just been watching the edits and videos and just going completly insane here; dying to go ride. Thnx for letting me rant. _________________ You make me want to punch a baby!

It sucks for sure. I've had a very slow summer because every time I've been up north it's been pretty windy--i'd maybe get to ride one of three days. but there's a 2.0 about 1 hr 20 minutes away from me and I've resolved to go there more often...it feels worth it!
I hope you get to ride with that guy this weekend! _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

Well I actually got out on the lake twice this weekend 1st for 2hrs Saturday no calm waters to be found, tried to ride but got worked by 2/3 ft. waves. Sunday wasn't so bad to begin with and I was able to ride without getting slammed by waves but it was still a rough ride, my friend that I had driving hadn't drove a boat in almost 3 years and was having trouble keeping a straight line and a decent speed, so I just gave up for the day and just relaxed and started drinking again. The only positive outa this weekend is I got to work on my tan. _________________ You make me want to punch a baby!

I've rode 3 times in the last year. Two of those were winching. Yesterday I was on a lake with shin to knee high white caps and still rode for 15-20 mins keeping. Smile on my face the entire time. I'll get to ride 1 day in august when I'm back in California for a week.
I've had an open offe to ride in Canada this whole summer but due to schedulin with work I haven't been able too.
I have a brand new integrity with less that 2 hrs of water time and I've had it for a year.
If i get to ride 3 more times this year I'll be able.
Also doesn't help I had knee surgery back in august so I'm relearning how to ride and not damage my knee.
Edit: sorry for the spelling errors I'm on my iPhone _________________ Scuba Steve's Wakeskate Film Libray |

To add to my Rant thread, was pulling through the gates at work today 3pm get a text pull into my parking spot and read it..."hey just pulled up to the boat launch head on down and catch a set and party with us". So now I'm all---> cause I've already been spotted and can't call in sick. So I'm at work trying to put on a fake smile and act like everything is ok.....(ding) get another text this time from another friend that hardly takes out his boat " Hey going riding at five today meet me at the storage if you wanna ride". So now i'm like----> and the more I'm dwelling on it im getting to and and at the same time. Really 2 invites to go ride when all fraking summer long I haven't been out! WTF I can't believe I'm stuck at work with 2 boats available to go take sets on! Someone please put me outa my misery. FML _________________ You make me want to punch a baby!

Finally got at it today hounded one of my friends with a ski last night for hours convinced him to get up and got some sets in (plus i replaced the boards on his trailer for him for free so he owed me). Wasn't glass but my lake hardly ever is. I've never tried any in-out tricks besides 180's and grabs but today I went for a shuv ended up over doing it and caught a 3shuv and slipped out backwards. After that I went balls out and almost knocked myself out a few times.... I'm a happy camper for now. Got a purdy bruise on my hip/thigh from loosing the board and it smacking me. Can't wait to go ride again. _________________ You make me want to punch a baby!
