good stuff dude. one trick to macro is using a very small aperture (bigger number) it gives you more lee way to screw up the focusing.

It is tough, I was at F-4 and messing with shutter speed. My wife has the good lense for macro on her D300 and the pics where night and day difference. I will get some pics from her,,,the wasps were sick. I did free hand the pics while she used the pod, that helps to with the focal point,,,

the wasps one is my favorite for sure.
which lens did you get? once you are at like 1:1 macro its super hard to get a good shot with out a tirpod. your wife has a good taste in cameras.
