Surf pics from today *56Kers DIAF*

New Smyrna Beach Inlet was kickin today! Fun waves, amazing weather, clear water, even a manatee cruised the surfers all day. Everyone was killin it today. Here are some pics I took with my friends camera. I'm a camera noob, so given the high sun in most the pictures.. how can I brighten up the subject so they aren't so darked-out? Is the shutter speed too slow or something?

Anyways enjoy... there are more but the camera battery died before it transferred the remaining pictures.. I'll have to post the rest Monday. There are way more girl pics that I'll post then too.

I've got a bunch more surfer chick pics I'll post tonight. The pics are transferring off the card via my printer as I type lol... thanks to uidzero for that idea... such a smarty pants I love it!!! Anyways the transfer has 42 minutes remaining Surprised

Can any photo-guru's help me out with suggestions on what I'm doing wrong so far as camera settings are concerned?

Oh yea, there was a shark bite this morning too... kinda surprising considering how clear the water was.

taku, Your iso is probably to high, that's why they have some grain to them.

The camera I was using is a Nikon D70, and the battery is still dead so I can't turn it on to check what settings I was using, but thanks for all the input! I'll have to mess with it more when I charge it. Here are the rest of the pictures... I'm sifting through the chick pics now.. I'll post those next.

This little fish caught the biggest break of the day... the bird dropped him into the surf right after I took this shot... fish took off and the bird chased him but couldn't get it again.
