¿INJURIES?

Hey so i tore my a.c.l 2 weeks ago wake skating, don't really know how tried a huge shove and just landed weird and pop is all i remember.

so it got me to thinking whats some injuries you guys have had from wakeskating. and if you got pics that would be cool.

when was learning wake to wake i hurt my back something went wrong i dont remember but i hit the water and under water my feet hit my like i bent like a u but heels to my head so really akward. didnt ride for couple weeks. nothing like you guys, im just a big baby

Back when I strapped I knocked my two front teeth in when I went off axis on a w2w backside 180. I pushed them back into place and am happy to say that after the search for a dentist on good Friday they have been in their rightful place since 2001. Also (again strapping) I was trying to slide this A frame with a little starting ollie and I couldn't make the whole thing, on my last try I missed the ollie, T-boned the board and cartwheeled over the A frame. It totaled my board and the helmet I had has a big scuff mark on it where my head skidded across the supports but physically I escaped unharmed. Came back 2 weeks later and slid it to get over the fear.

Only wakeskate injury would be doing the splits doing a tre shuv. Twisted my knee up pretty bad

LiquidForce71, ouch! my boy broke his leg just like that in the spring. How is your recovery coming? i'm sure you'll be ready for next season.

i snapped my femur in 3 places wakeskating back in 03. w2w indy shuv . i landed like and the shuv kept spinning and just when i was about to fall, i didn't and that big ol bad wake stood me up and twisted my leg til it broke like a dry breadstick Question

well when is saw my foot floating close to my head i said Shocked

then as the 2 girls in the boat paniced.......i climbed my broke ass up and on da boat then hauled my wet noodle of a leg over the side of the boat , then as the bone poked under the skin and threatened to breach.....i said Shocked

i said take me to the H take me to the O take me to the S take me to the P take me to the I T A L

as i lay on a board in traction for 8 hours i said Confused

then i took a ride in the heli with our good freind Morphine Cool

then due to heavy fog it was back to the road Rolling Eyes

and then shortly upon arrival....they did work Razz

so after 4 screws and a giant titanium rod i awoke and looked at my leg and again i said Shocked

then the size of me one asscheek was like Mad

and the next day i was on my way

to recovery. my ass was so swollen it took 2 days for the swelling to go down enough for me to sueeze one out and when i finally did Mr T

and after taking the catheder or whatever up the storm drain i looked down and again Mr T

but after that and some steady rehab i was back out there in 3 months Very Happy

i pretty much laid up my w2w game and just try and get more techy now. but it does have a lot to do with where u ride. the salt is more bitter than the fresh fo sho. hard water makes for some hard falls. stretching before and after greatly improves my performance. and not pushing it or forcing it is the biggest thing. i was pushing that trick that day and that's when i got beach slapped by the wake.

schnitzel has to flow..........it's like fishing. yeah you might get some bites from the dock.......but if u get out there(engage in the flow)......in a boat and drift .........now u r in unison with the world underwater, or in our cases onthewater. and thats when the big fish start coming in.

Raven, omg i couldnt move, i didnt go in to shock, so i had to get up on the boat with so much pain. its been 3 months and im just barely starting to surf again Sad

i though recovery would be alot faster, but it is feeling pretty good, my ankle is whats holding me back i pulled a muscle in it after i got my cast off so i had to lay low again. But ya Car ride to hospital with broken leg, no drugs on bumpy road, then getting out of the car Crazy Eyes

I just want to get back out. But i plan on wearing a shin guard for a little while haha

LiquidForce71, great to hear you are surfing again.......that's how i got back in the water, on a sponge. the ocean can definetly take your leg for a ride if you're lame. so i'd say you're doing well if you're surfing already........don't push it til the spring and you should be strong for next season. Wink

hell yes when the surfs good........nobody works Very Happy

so the waves here are nice....i looked today but it was small. u kinda need some L's or some hurricaines to get some serious swell. that and some west wind.......chyeah!

i did surf santa barbara once and i love the points you guys have on the westside.........long ass rides. so beautiful.

This is my right arm after it got caught in the handle doing an inside out 360. notice its yellow and purple. Put me out for 2 weeks.

And this is the back of my head before I got 8 staples put in. Did this one doing a re-entry 3-shuv behind this X-45, wake was so massive I over rotated and spun the board into my head. I went out later that day and chilled out on the wake-surf.

broke my neck Shocked

.. was out for a week. Shocked

then the day i went back out, i wasn't gonna ride (doc said no), so i was gonna drive the boat... then i sliced my foot open on some glass in the water launching the boat...... so i was out for another week with stitches holding my foot on.....
