First of all, whoever thought of making a watersports shoe out of leather deserves to have jumper cables pinched on their nipples.
Dumb.
I bought these shoes about a month ago.. They looked nice and light and the price was right. I wear a size 12 shoe, but went with a 10.5 so that they would be nice a snug.
They were great the first 3-5 times.. Then, they seemed to start stretching a little. Each time I would have to lace them tighter and tighter.
Now, after about 20+ sessions, the leather is totally stretched out to the point that the two halves of the shoe by the laces are practically on top of each other. The friggin shoe is still so big that my big toe is like 1/2" from the front of the shoe, and my foot slides all around in them.
Ghey.
Do not buy these shoes.. go with anything that does NOT use any leather. UGP's FTW..
Just my $0.02

Ahh.. I gotcha. So if i would have gotten them 1.5 sizes bigger than they would be even tighter on my feet. Wow, what was I thinking?

Wait.. think about it though.. not trying to be a d!ck.. sorry..
When I got them, they were perfect size. Not tight, just right. When they get wet, that leather stretches. So, now to make them fit right the laces have to be pulled tighter to make the shoes tighter. The leather stretches tight, and then stretches loose again with the pressure and the water. Every time I put them on, they have to be laced tighter and tighter in order to fit right. Doesn't matter if they were bigger to start out with, they would have been even more looser.
What I'm trying to say is that leather stretches. It's not meant to get wet and keep it's form.. This is how leather workers work it. They get it wet and it's like butter.
So, making a water shoe out of a material that gets soft and stretchy and then doesn't retain its original size/shape when it dries doesn't make much sense.. _________________ Post less, ride more. |
