|
|
Hey guys,
I am seriously thinking of picking up a gate because it is going to cost me 149.99. I also could pick up a byerly but they are only 20 dollars cheaper. Now, honestly I want people who have rode the board and some opinions of just about everyone. Just throw things my way. I have not been impressed with Cassette lately since I broke both of my concave boards last season through warpage. I am going to go with the compression models and want to go with hype. Any and all opinions welcomed. Thanks guys for the buying help |

Haha, sorry about the typo but the gate is 249.99 and the byerly is 229.99. Well keep the opinions coming guys and it would be kicking if you told me why you like the gate so much. |

I like mine, but I would go w/ the byerly. Cheaper and the kick tails dont do much. |

Check out the Integrity Skates also...
In my honest opinion the gate is a POS unless you know how to ride it like (Spaced on his name) the guy in Asterick! _________________ Vive La Jeffe! - JLA is snowboarding!

A lot of you guys have been saying that the gate is a POS but I am questioning why? It seems like a cool design and a reason why I was thinking of getting it. It is fairly cheap compared to MSRP and cheaper then the integrity ones. Plus I have had nothing but good things to do with Hyperlite. The quality of their clothing, I love their design, their warranty, and the riders that I have chatted with are completely down to earth and just seem to be great guys. Maybe I have already talked myself into the board but I would still like opinions with substantial evidence to back them up or just educated opinions. I hate to say it but some peoples opinions....flat out suck. Moreover, these opinions are usually uneducated and irrelavant. Well...thanks for everything though guys |

there is an anti-hyperlite army out there... waiting to express their anti-hyperlite opinions to you in hopes of maybe making you an anti-hyperlite member... be careful and remember what u thot before they influenced you, before you make a decision. money talks _________________ √ |

Gefunk, hey man it sounds like the reasons you sited for getting the board arent reasons for getting the board at all...i mean you say you like their clothing and that the riders are down to earth....those arent real reasons to buy a hl board now are they _________________ JMU |

i was going to get the gate when i first saw it i thought it was awesome too but that thing is expensive.. really i just saved $60 and got a byerly 107 which is awesome it rides really ez and has a good feel to it.. i dont think i could get that feel out of the gate because its really a first to the wakeskating and they almost always need "tweaking" so if they keep the gate for next year or the year after that i might look into getting it if they have changed the design a little bit im not really into the double kicktail when u think about it i dont think its really that great of an idea but i've never ridden one just had opinions given to me from the riders but id go with the byerly 107 unless you're content on buying the gate |

You'll find most riders from most teams are pretty cool. Hyperlites clothing is made in some random taiwanese factory, so thats no indication of anything... Oh wait I think their decks may be made in the factory next door to it. Hmmm.
Sounds like you've already made up your mind, and are just asking people to help justify your decision.
You want reasons the gate sucks? More than the ones that have already been listed?
The kicktails are gimmicks. The physics of a wakeskate and a skateboard are different.
The board is actually really short. Too short.
I personally HATE compression molded boards.
No choice of foam or grip.
In my opinion, a lame concave shape.
Hows that? _________________
