i/o height

so i've got in/outs and landing them, even landed an i/o fs 180 today. my problem is they aren't as high as i'd like. i've read that i should flatten out whenever i cross the center of the wake? right now, i'm keep my edge all the way through and out of the wake. would my height increase if i flattened out halfway through and then popped off of the top of the wake? thanks.

flatten off right before you hit the i/o, i had the same problem

I can never figure these out. depending on what boat im behind, on my buddies old ski boat, i can boost them high but not far. behind my boat im useless, behind my buddies cruiser i can boost them far but not high. I have no clue how it works.

see that's something with me too. behind my buddy's sea ray, it seems like i boost them higher. behind my bay boat (200 yamaha 2 stroke), it seems like i get no height. hopefully that's my problem. tomorrow i'm going to try to just let go of my edge whenever i cross the middle of the wake.

The Captain once said something that really helped me. He said wait a half a second longer than you think you should pop it. Try it and see!

slam your back foot down as hard as you can coming into your ollie as well.

MrMarbles, he was oh so correct, a lot of the time people kind of ollie over the in/out instead of launching off of it like a lil' kicker, wait a little longer and you'll pop off the lip instead of the middle of the wake.

I say edge threw. then pop off of your edge.. you'll gain distance AND height

i don't know i ALWAYS used to just edge straight into it but i could never really pop that way, i guess i'll keep trying that focusing more on pop. I think it made it easier for me to just flatten off then pop making me think i'm getting higher.

definitely going to work on this saturday.
