Hey guys. I've been back about a week and I have wanted to share my experience on the road with ya.
I drove down to Boca Raton, FL to help take care of my grammies. All in all I was gone for about 12 days.
I left solo Maryland around 10 am and got to Cary K's in Rocky Mount, NC around sunset for a little sunset sesh behind his Xstar Anyway stopping along the road to get coffee or McDonalds once seemed very fufilling along the 18 hour drive south. Imagine a long set in warmer NC with a new pal behind the X, it was nothing short of ridiculous. Cary K. is a righteous brother and a family man, kind of like an underground Byerly. He was charging the ginormous wake that had me yellow, w2w 180 first try and some tech lip jibbing. He had many sattlelyte wakeskates from the beginning and it was cool to see the progression. I struggled with the big wake at first but managed a nice kicky and the usual 3shuv. I was so stoked, he offered to let me stay; but being on cloud nine, I was amped to get on with my journey. Cary much love and mad respect. I can't wait to reciprocate, see ya soon.
I drove all night, that's how good the NC set had pumped me up. I ended up looking for the projects, which isn't easy to find. Thanks to Alexxx and TNT I was able to find it after a breif snooze in the car, I rolled in and talked to Pat. It was so glassy there, I wanted to ride so bad. They had a Gator shoot so they were fixing the place up I was hurting at this point, I wanted to get a room but around Disney rooms are like 250
I went to Odub, this guy named Addison was just finishing the morning boat set and he was killing it on the wakeboard like I've never seen. I was next and I had a good run. I love riding there, I hit a 3shuv off the double and a nice V-flip to stoke me out and I took a little snooze by the lake. I rode the cable for an hour but I couldn't do anything.
I made it to west palm and stayed with my mom that nite. I woke up to head to Boca but I had to make a stop at the residence of a new kind of wakeskater......Alex with a triple X<AlexXx> he lives near my mom. We rode the mangroves right behind his house, he pulled a nasty 3shuv to back big :shock:Cooooot! I hit the flats v-flip 1st try He is the chillest person I've met down there. My main man.
Finally I made it to Boca, everyone was doing well. I did a great deal of medicine watching, driving, cooking, cleaning, and fishing. Rixen I had visited 10-15 years earlier and I remember it being close so I went back.
My first day I rode the best. I was getting mad pop and hangtime right before the machine. I threw the biggest 3shuvs I've hit, v-flip, and a rare kicky off the flats. That place is rad. I hit it again with Alexxx and Scotty B, we had a blast. Thanks for coming down homies.
I made a nite trip up to see my mom before she left and I was hoping to get a set in with the guys first. Things can get complicated with the grammies sometimes so, by the time I called the guys back they were already heading back in. I was a man in the moment. I looked to the left and saw a boat in a lake right on the side of the freeway, I exited and found my way to the dock with my skate, shoes, rope, and vest. _________________ dbanana wrote:

Sorry,
I cheered them from the dock as they changed riders and my new freind Brian got up for the first time. Then it happened...........hey do you want a pull it was as if the heavens opened up. Johnny was the drivers name, and it was a brand new blue and yellow Moomba. They unloaded some girls that watched from the dock. I offered him 10 bucks for gas and he declined, which happened everytime I offered money. Amazingly kind people in this world. The wake was so perfect and the pull was so consistent and the lake we we're riding in was dreamy. I hit a nice 3shuv and they we're nuts after seeing that. I got close on some stuff, I pulled a fs big and I was trying to hippie jump this perfect stick. Damn that sh#ts hard. Anyway we went by the dock and they told me to spray the girls.
After the turn I cut out hard and buried my toeside rail, I covered the entire boathouse in awall of water. I didn't even look except at the guys faces. I think I got them into trouble..haha. They stopped and offered me another set after a break. This was hard to turn down b/c I was meeting my mom for dinner I did get a freinds number and he lives by my granma and came out to ride with me at the cable one day. Super cool cats, I'd love to hang with these guys again.
Anyway, I left my grammas for good and headed north, to Scotty B's, a cool cat like the cheetos cat. Execpt he ain't cheesy........well his Dad's lasagna was. After a long boat set behind the outboard and a big ol wake he fed me a big ol lunch. Thanks Scott. He pulled a nasty 3shuv/fs big combo Alexxx and I .....well we had our 3shuvs....his are x-large by the way. He has such a cool riding spot right in his back yard. I can't wait to give you guys a pull, thankyou soooooo much. Next stop jacksonville. When I called Leprechaun, he was heading on his own trip to Tallahassee. He postponed his trip so that I could ride with him. That said a lot to me. Kyle 41 arrived a few minuted before I did.
Now if I told you the Leprechaun actuallly was one you'd laugh. Seriously though picture the Notre Dame's mascot in drivers ed.
There was a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow. It was in the form of a really nice young man, his freind Kyle 41 and a really nice family. He greeted me with open arms and we headed out for the evening set on the ?James. We found a quiet spot beind the ski, and the ripping began. I pulled a kicky and I was stoked. Kyle had the biggest bs ollies I've ever seen and the Leprechaun had some shuvs along with the beast attitude. I meant best; but beast sounds better. Kyle was a level-'headed' cat who was so freindly as well. I loved hanging with these guys.
After the session you'd figure I'd be back on the road. Not before some hot tubbing and some hot dogs. jeez that sounds bad.
His mom made hot dogs, baked beans, mac n cheese. I was so full and happy. I hit the road.
Another night on the road and I was back. Back to the wife and the dog, I'm so happy to be back. I hit it after a days rest and riding in my river with a full suit , I remembered my new freinds and the warm temps down south. Everything was just perfect. Thanks to wakeskating.com. I made some really nice freinds and some memories that I'll cherish forever.
Anyone who read this, thankyou for your time. I hope it has inspired someone. Life is not an adventure. Unlesss...............u make it 1. _________________ dbanana wrote:
