If your point is to prove that Nuclear Weapons are good, here’s your argument:
The Cold War was responsible for the longest peace between major powers in the modern era because of MAA (Mutually Assured Annulation). One of the arguments in favor of Nuclear Weapons is the idea of “Nuclear Deterrence”. Rational leaders have the weapons, but rational leaders will not use them. Thus, as long as rational people are in power, Nuclear Weapons work. Thus, as long as such wars remain cold (and not hot) they are not so bad. _________________ Life's Kredo = "When the snake falls in love with the spagetti it's time to buy a new hat." & "I guess I need to whiskey up these corn flakes..and heroin up this Orange Juice." |

This is a cool argument because who is going to support Nuclear weapons. I personally hate them, but I am open to the fact that they do serve a purpose. Let me grab some evidence to prove this agrument. _________________ Life's Kredo = "When the snake falls in love with the spagetti it's time to buy a new hat." & "I guess I need to whiskey up these corn flakes..and heroin up this Orange Juice." |

Very well.......why didn't you say that!!!!!!
Russia did stat it (I guess). Actually, you could prove that Cuba was to blame, but whatever.....
Start with the Cuban missle crisis Ovt 18-29, 1962. _________________ Life's Kredo = "When the snake falls in love with the spagetti it's time to buy a new hat." & "I guess I need to whiskey up these corn flakes..and heroin up this Orange Juice." |

American U2 spy planes found missles in Cuba.
Cuba went to the SOVIET UNION for aid (because the Americans wouldn't help them first) and the Soviets said, "yo....we'll help you, but we'd like to store these short range missles here." Cubans were like "sure....whateever!" _________________ Life's Kredo = "When the snake falls in love with the spagetti it's time to buy a new hat." & "I guess I need to whiskey up these corn flakes..and heroin up this Orange Juice." |

Keep this in mind......... perhaps as a final proof.
NO one is 100% sure who caused the Cold War. There are different theories from the "Traditionalists" to the "Revisionists" to the "post-revisionists" to the "modern post-1991ers".
So, if your teacher tries giving you shizzle for not proving your point, say....listen "no one truly knows who was to blame for the cold war, so who are you to tell me who caused it????"
"those who know do; those who don't teach, and those to can't teach assign busy work, and those who fail dudes for not being able to prove who caused the Cold War better check their facts because PHD candidates can't even prove this point, so how do you expect me to????????" booyah!!! _________________ Life's Kredo = "When the snake falls in love with the spagetti it's time to buy a new hat." & "I guess I need to whiskey up these corn flakes..and heroin up this Orange Juice." |

Because of your time constraints, you can't get fancy, so I'd say, just focus on the Cuban Missile Crisis and the major players:
USA = JFK
Cuba = Fidel Castro (I love Fidel and I think he did nothing wrong).
Soviets = Khrushchev
Prove that Khrushchev made bad decisions and you will be okay. _________________ Life's Kredo = "When the snake falls in love with the spagetti it's time to buy a new hat." & "I guess I need to whiskey up these corn flakes..and heroin up this Orange Juice." |

No….fawk this…….
Upon more reflection, no one should be blaming the Soviets for the cold war. America had a way larger nuclear arsenal and was way more paranoid than the soviets. I don’t care if you’re in Singapore or not. People should not be forced to blame the soviets. AMERICA WAS WAY MORE TO BLAME FOR THE COLD WAR THAN THE SOVIETS OR THEN CUBANS!!!!!!!! Yes, I’m drunk! Yes, I will regret this statement tomorrow. But I am fawkin sick of the western world for blaming the rest of the world for its mishaps.
Moreover, the Iraqis should not be forced to have democratic elections. That’s right, I faw-king said it!!!!! Democracy does not work for all countries!!!!!! The world is a dynamic place, and why should a nation of killers dictate right from wrong?????
Seriously dude, be like Mathatma Ghandi and will fully and peacefully decline the participation in this BS. _________________ Life's Kredo = "When the snake falls in love with the spagetti it's time to buy a new hat." & "I guess I need to whiskey up these corn flakes..and heroin up this Orange Juice." |

jonnyUTAH, the ussr is only blamed in western society to have started it because america as a democratic government hated russia ever since lenin and the bolshevicks(sp?) took over and turned it into a communismon(sp?) government. ever since that they have been our enemies.
and yes america did have a larger nuclear arsenal but i was taught that we only had such a large arsenal because of defense purposes. i guess it was incase russia or cuba attacked us.
(all of this is just what i was taught of as a student of a california school so if any of it is wrong please feel free to corect me) _________________ Scuba Steve's Wakeskate Film Libray |

Brother........ it is not up to you to relay on others to correct you, it is up to you to correct yourself! I hate to quote a pop icon, but in the immortal words of Yoda, “you must unlearn what you have learned.”
Never ever let anyone tell you what to think – EVER!!! “There is no absolute frame of reference.” “Calculate what man knows, and it does not amount to what he does not know” _________________ Life's Kredo = "When the snake falls in love with the spagetti it's time to buy a new hat." & "I guess I need to whiskey up these corn flakes..and heroin up this Orange Juice." |

Dude! You are totally correct about Lenin and the Bolshevicks. It’s was a witch hunt! The same goddam thing is taking place today. Good luck making the conflicting groups in Iraq (Sheads, Suunis,<sp>, etc) accept a democratic outcome. Hell No! It doesn’t matter who wins, no one will accept the outcome. Such a diverse nation requires a faw-kin totalitarian – period! I hate to say it, but that douchbag Saddam Hussein managed to keep everyone in line with Power Politics.
I have no problem with dudes challenging the opinion of a drunk left-wing Canadian, so bring it on if you must, but seriously………. if you think that there is one absolute form of governance, than you are sadly mistaken. Iraq will not end in peace! The dollar will fall and our generation will foot the bill for this BS -- mark my words!
History told us that the Vietnamese were the only country to ever ward off the largest army in the world – the Chinese. And history showed us, that defense ALWAYS has the advantage in warfare. And history has showed us, that guerilla warfare favors those who can hide and thick jungle hides one well. Yet……… Vietnam was invaded.
Take it for what it’s worth, but in the end, the only person you can trust is yourself, so make yourself trustworthy by not being easily fooled by the opinions of others.
