So the gen4 winch is complete. I worked my a$$ off to get the thing done so It could be shipped to mississippi. I took all the precautions to pack the box with tons of foam and bolted the winch to a piece of ply wood at the bottom of the box. I put so much tape around it it looked like the box was made out of the sh/t. confadent it would arive safely. the douches at ups decided to play volleyball with box and completly destroyed the frame. the engine monts were completly ripped off so the enginge was bouncing around in the box. I not sure who won the game but it was not the winch. I had put fragile stickers all over the thing, this end up ect. that gave them free game to destroy it. I am so bummed for the guy who bought it because he's been waiting for it and it shows up in looking like beef stew. I cant express how sorry I am for ross. I will build him a new frame and every thing will be all good. I fvckin hate ups. I got the insurance for it and now they are telling me that I packed the box so it's my fault. I did not know that I needed to build a box that could withstand a fall from a two story building. next time I will ship fedex or freight. never again ups.
the more I look at the photos I see this thing had to have taken a fall from pretty high up. I use three types of steel .065 thin wall for the cross tubes to reduce weight .095 for the side tubes. (bullet proof) 1/8 plate steel for the side gussets. You can hit that sh/t with a hammer(and I do when assembling)and it wont dent. the foam inside was reduced to powder. overstreet we will get you all fixed up no matter what ups does or doesn't do...

UPS is terrible, they destroyed one of my winches and it took me almost 6 months of fighting it to get my insurance claim. The BEST thing to do is bring it into UPS and have them "help" pack it and now I take pictures of all my packages AT the UPS store before they go out.

UPS have been repositioned upwards on my "hatelist". How hard can it be to deliver a package without beating the shiz out of it? I would understand if they were required carry it on their backs but they have things that are designed to bear the load(handtrucks, big a$$ trucks). No excuses!
ride5, not your fault. This is because of their own incompetence. Maybe if they hired people with more than a second grade education and they could read all the fragile and this side up stickers, it would save them a few bucks on insurance claims.
Maybe they should rethink their business strategy. Gotta love big business!!
P.S. Gen4.is beautiful, to say the least. Pictures don't do this baby justice!
I'M IN LOVE WITH A WINCH!!!

| ain't that some bull shite, that is one beautiful looking winch though man, you have any information on it, specs and price? Shipping is always sketchy especially with something like that, you would just expect the company to pick up the slack when they mess something up and pay for the damages they did.

UPS actually has a freight option, I used it for my 2nd winch and it worked out perfect on the palette. I didn't even have to wrap it up..

I used to work at Fed-Ex. You have to understand, alot of the people packing the trucks and handling your boxes, are the most honest of people. I tell this to everyone I know
do not...DO NOT write fragile on the box, this is like putting a bullseye on your box...

Conway is a good freight company that is not outrageously expensive. You should also probably put it in a crate or strap it to a skid if you want it to make it through shipping.
