Scare tactics, shady business practices and deep pockets are how they became the largest company.....
I personally don't think the lock is a gimmick, so long as it works. |

Grouch, don't you fully dig on the roam? Are you sure you'd want hyperlite to be locked away? Or is that just for wakeskating... _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

electricsnow, I think you have a good point. Hyperlite (corporate wakeboard/waterski companies that care more about marketing and bullsh;t sales pitches than R&D and putting out a good product) should be exiled from the wakeskate market. _________________ √ |

| Yes, I had a byerly last summer and it didn't last half the summer and it was kinda hard to land stuff on..... but lets face facts most people here are all about supporting rider owned companies and I myself am one of them. There will always be some company like hyperlite, I was shocked when i saw George Daniels riding a byerly... but do I blame the kid for taking the money and the fame? Hell No!!! and any one of you would have done the same... Or how many people on here would actually tell any of the skaters, off that ride for hyperlite to their face? Its funny me and my friends joke around and hate on them too, wow we must be cool being that everything we rode till just this year was hyperlite. companies like integrity, liberation, kampus, and gator all deserve our support. Hyperlite pushed the sport more than anyone, do i like their boards? no, but do I honestly wish they would burn to the ground? and No... If people really thing this is a war than fight it by not buying kent sports stuff... you will never ever hear me making fun of grubb, scott, daniels, or any one else. Ha and I hope one of them chokes a beach, and then busts out a varial flip... yuppies and sluts thats all we are |

Are you trying to state that as a fact? I completely disagree if you are. _________________ √ |

hyperlite didnt push the sport more than anyone........ not wakeskating.....not even wakeboarding. they had a large influence yes.. noone can deny that, but watch decline of the water ski monopoly... hyperlite wasnt a big name then, and those were the people pushing the sport..
and if hyperlite offered me a contract to ride for them. i can honestly say i would turn it down, i dont think i can ever ride another board again, and integirty is still so young who knows what they wil come up with... i would rather be someone in the shadows supporting companies that care, then be someone in the spotlight supporting a company that is, a wakeboard company for one, and that is only interested in money rather then a HIGH quality product thats not made by some guy in china who doesnt even know what wakeskating is.
integrity will always have my support, and my respect will only go towards rider owned and opperated companies. does any one disagree with anything that i stated?
and noone has customer support liek integirty...... my deck broke, instead of saying buy a new one, erich gave me detailed instructions on how to fix it myself.... he saved me 200 and some dollars....... and that 200 and some dollars will get back to him again when i get a new deck.... |

well grouch, that hour must have thrilled you to death if you spoke so highly of it awhile back.
anyway, I was just wondering, because there are others that do the same thing.
And nick I wasn't making any suggestions, but rather, trying to get some clarification.
Numb, I almost forgot. I'm not sure if you were a wakeboarder or wakeskater in 1999, but that's when decline came out and hyperlite was a large, popular company. Scott had signed with them in april of 1999... _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com*

| numb, you're saying that if you had the chance to be a full time wakeskater and not have to worry about money and other jobs and just focus on wakeskating, you would pass it up? |

Greg T, If we can make this rider-owned/rider controlled market a reality by not supporting the corporate whores, he can be a full time wakeskater and not have to worry about money... _________________ √ |

| Wow, you guys are really hardcore into this rider owned thing, aren't you? Rider owned companies are great and should be supported, but companies like hyperlite and LF paved the way for the sport and still produce a good product. Sure integs look awesome, but not everybody can afford a $300 wakeskate. Sure the lock is a gimmick, but what if it really is beneficial. Thats what i was asking |

How would it not be beneficial. Its the same principle as a 4 trac was and is. Has anyone even ridden the new Byerly or Grubb skate? In my personal opinion they have come along way since last year... _________________ www.wakeboardatlanta.com |

i think hyperlite does more for the sport than any company, how many contests did they they sponsor last year how many childrens and kids clinics do the put on every single year, they have the whole game tour this year, same goes with liquid force as well, how many trips across america has liquid force put on, i realize integ and some of these other smaller companies may not because they are still small but until they do, no one can say these companies havent done anything for the sport _________________ "If I gave a crap you be the first person I'd give it to" -Unknown |

numb, you say that if you saw that money and contract sitting in front of you, you would say that you would like to poor and work at the 7 11 from 7 to close everyday just so you can support "rider owned companies" nick taylor, hyperlite and liquid force are rider owned companies, ever heard of paul obrien? and his family, or what about jimmy redmond or tony finn the founders and owners of liquid force, than try and say these companies arent rider owned? _________________ "If I gave a crap you be the first person I'd give it to" -Unknown |

| We should be thankful that at least hyperlite and LF are still decent companies. In the winter, i'm skiing park and pipe everyday. Salomon is one of the top brands, and i hate them with a passion. First, they don't give a shizzle about the sport, they don't deal with warranty issues, and they are owned by adidas. Just a few reasons. Thats just an example of a company that is much worse than hyperlite. From experience, i know hyperlite and LF stand true to their warranty issues in a timely manner. They also do lots of r & d, because they still know whats important. I dunno really where i'm going with this, but i think everybody should give this years hyperlites a ride. I know that they sucked in the past, but they took steps to improve it. Before everybody bashes them into the ground, at least see if they improved. You may suprise yourself. |
