Disc brakes and maybe a speedo ? This thing sounds crazy nice! good luck on this thing man, hope it comes through. Maybe if I suddenly find 2g CDN on the streets i can get one... How would you do shipping on something so heavy though? isnt that gonna cost a fortune

s34n, I have no idea what shipping will be, but yeah it will probably have to be freight or drop shipped, and that is pretty pricey, but I can't think of a better solution right now unfortunately.

Bowen, Thanks for the offer, I got the same problem, college eats all your money, then it eats all your time you use to make money, kinda sucks, luckily my pops has some faith in my abilities, and is willing to invest.

Ok I got news, but it kinda is useless news, at this point the engine is going to be about (---), plus about (---) in parts, soooooo to sell it and b just break even no consideration for my labor it would be about (---), but don't fret, that isn't the FINAL word, were trying to set up a deal with the company so we get OEM pricing, that means we might get it cheaper, unfortunately if we do, I can't tell you how much the engine itself will cost, part of the dealer agreement BUT it will be reflected in the cost of the winch so all you math majors out their could prolly figure it out, however the saga doesn't end their, if they won't give us a better deal I will sell plans and alist of dealers and part numbers with detailed instructions, and you could probably build your self one for 900 to 1000 dollars IDK Ill keep you guys posted pray for good news

EDIT: this post was effed up my numbers were wrong, my dad told me them over the phone, and I mis-understood my pops has the real numbers Ill pos them when he gets back from his trip.

appearantly my numbers we're all wrong, b/c we aren't going to buy a gazillion motors to get the super cheap price, so now their giving us to a salkes rep who is going to try and set us up a dealer or OEM account and figure what our price will be at the amount of units we're going to order, soory guys it's a big corporation, and they aren't in any big hurry to help out small frys like us, so it'll take a little longer, but hopefully this will be resolved friday

hey guys I got photos of the prototype takeup drum for the Pirate Winch, check my gallery The disc brakes and the drum are pretty much final, the gear ratio, I.E sprocket size depends on me getting the motor to test all the options

NEW NEWS, I am awaiting the final hurtle( the last thing that can stop me totally). My dad has to ok my loan (wish me luck). then there will be 3 winches available for sale, I have thought long and hard, and I think it's only fair to give DVS805, first dib, he is the only guy on here who has been dead serious from the start, and consistantly in contact with me, my dad said I have to wait until he's done with his boat project so I will know a final yes or no in 2 to 3 weeks, and from that point I predict approx 2 months from start to finish, the winch will be 1350.

I am also goint to do palns, with 3-D cad drawings, and also all the places to get the parts, what do you guys think is fair amount for this( keep in mind I have to hire my friend to do some serious Pro-E 3-D cad work on the computer to get this done, and that they retail for 1350)

soooo if DVS805 is still interested then 1 left, the count down has started, you guys got 4 months to save up and I will post pics vid and I really want to get DVS805, down here to test it, since he's a cali boy, and PIRATE too so you guys can get their video opinions of it, and we'll see where number 2 ends up.

if demand goes up suddenly after you guys see these in action, I might make another limited run, well see how it goes.

Kento911- I appriecate that and are that instructions pretty easy to follow because if it comes down to me and some1 else and the instructions are to hard to follow I would be willing just to take them. I'm alright with mechanical stuff but I would have my dad to help and and he knows a good deal about it.
