Ok, maybe not freezing ...but pretty cold for Melbourne's weather. Running on 315MHz halt.

I ride mine on 434 Mhz and could not do a deepwater start more than 50 m from the winch. Just because water disturbs the signal. The Lower frequency the less interference, So your is 120 Mhz lower than me, would be intressting to know how far from the winch you can Deep water start from.

Check out this vid for a more detailed look in to the operation of the Auto Winch.
http://vimeo.com/25800206
This system basically consists of a wireless remote which when pushed sends a signal to a solenoid to engage the throttle. An adjustable timer in the circuit delays the solenoid from activating, giving you sufficient time to ditch the remote and get a good grip of the handle. The motor then cuts out when a pre-determined amount of pulses are sent to the counter, that way if you stack and let go of the handle you can rest assured the winch will stop in the same spot every time!!
Simple really, now go off and make your own

halt - I've only tested it out at our winch gap, it's 50m long but you're already elevated above the water so I suppose that would help a little. I bought my receiver from dinodirect.com and the remote that came with it was only good for 10m (even though it said 100m), so I bought the 3000m remote (3000m!!! what a joke hey!!! as if!!), that seems to be working better. I've yet to try it over a 200m distance but if it doesn't work I'll just make up some kind of repeater.

Does anyone know where a link to the missing video would be. Really would like to find it if possible. Thanks for any help.
