Alright, so why is every person on this website so damn sour? I really don't get it, theres simply a fellow wakeskater from the MIDWEST making some sunglasses to rep the midwest and your hating? Wakeskating.com is the biggest bunch of negative people that all get together and complain. I get hating on random fools that come on here trying to sell stuff, but this is different. This dude is a real wakeskater, not trying to make money, but just try to get the midwest hype out there, and help it grow.

midwestshred, midwest's post comes off as spamish, that's why people probably won't respond favorably. I deleted every other post of his for that very reason. He's blatantly trying to sell something and not even posting it in the classifieds section. And you say the situation is different, but his post doesn't do a good job of differentiating himself from other random dudes trying to sell stuff on here, especially when he's never actually tried to post about wakeskating without mentioning his shades on here. He's never really tried to be a part of the community without trying to sell them something. Generally when people want to sell stuff, they advertise because the forums aren't designed as a way to get around that. There are other sites that are a lot more strict about it than this one.

and I like how there's one post with one emoticon from raven, one of the raddest most positive guys on this site (do a search for his videos on here), and then you think everyone on here is sour? Fantastic.

And for the record, I am also from the midwest.

When have i ever tried to sell anything anywhere? i havent, the only thing i've posted on this site are videos i've made, that i thought i would share. I have no idea what your referring to as far as not posting stuff in the classified section, i've never once tried to sell anything on here, you mistaking me for a person on the forum and blaming me for other stuff.
What Raven posted was meant to convey negativeness regardless, and if you knew the dude making these sunglasses, you would understand that he's the most down to earth dude, and posted on here solely to support the midwest scene. i believe i was mistakenly blown up on, correct me if i'm wrong, but believe your reffering to midwest not midwestshred. two different people.

midwestshred, my sincerest apologies for confusing the posters. I absolutely mashed you and midwest together, so I'm sorry for the confusion. I've edited my post to reflect this, but my opinion still stands. midwest might be a down to earth guy and what not, but coming on here strictly to sell shades isn't the best way to create a favorable impression. There are ways to support the midwest scene without saying "buy my shades." Again, the web forums aren't a way to get around advertising and the ways one would properly do business. Sorry to be all "serious" about it, but I've found that when you let one person slide, others want to slide and people get pissed when you're inconsistent with the rules you enforce.

For those reasons I still completely stand behind raven's post, and still think it's silly that everyone is labeled as such (negatively) because of one post. Raven is still the man. Forever more. Laughing

aside from that, I wish midwest the best of luck.

I have to agree it seems these posts come out of nowhere and there is no info on what he is trying to do buy selling the sunglasses and how he is supporting the Midwest scene. I would love to buy a set of cheap sunglasses my last Oakley’s flew off my head riding my motorcycle and were smashed instantly and they were only a week old. I just seems weird that he has no info on how and what he does to support wakeskating and looks like he is using the site to sell his products which I am sure are made overseas and just labeled Midwest.

wow. you guys are hard core. I had no idea that you guys expect so much out of your forum topics. To tell you the truth I am impressed by the standards you guys hold each other to and I respect that.

With that said, please accept my sincerest apologies for my selfish post. Please believe my intentions were harmless but as you all have pointed out my delivery was at best lame. I really should have been more prepared and have written a post that would have explained that the whole midwest sunglasses company was born out of wakeskating. And how we started selling cheap sunglasses so we can wakeskates with shades on. If you lost them, well then you didn't loose your favorite oakleys or spys or whathaveyou's. Representin the midwest is just something I/we have been doing for years now. We don't live somewhere awesome like forida or texas or california or on some beach with palm trees, reggae music playing nightly and chick in bikinis parading around us holding ice cold coronas wearing blu-blockers. So I/we decided to take pride in where we are at and infect others with taking pride in their shizzle. that is all.

as far as winch jams go. yes, i am buying a winch from my dude in michigan as soon as he is done building our custom midwest model. Yes, there will be tons of jams to be thrown down and enough shades for your best buddy's mom's to even get a pair too.
