tav vs tav2????

what's the difference between a tav and a tav2? Are they interchangeable? Why choose one over the other? Any advantages of one versus the other? Disadvantages?

the only difference is the mounting plate, the TAV uses stamped steel which offers 2 different mounting positions on 1 bolt pattern, the TAV2 uses a cast aluminum mounting plate and offers 3 different mounting positions on 2 different bolt patterns
