Hey everyone,

I can't seem to find wakeskate shoes anywhere in Canadian stores. My only option it seems is buying them off the internet. I try to avoid buying off the internet as much as possible so my question is: Do I necessarily need wakeskate shoes? Some of my friends have told me to just use regular skate shoes (I'm a huge fan of Vans for skateboarding) but wouldn't they get destroyed way too quickly in the water?

Dudeski, no, wear some vans. They'll work great. anything that isn't going to hold a lot of water.

You don't need special shoes... vans are good for wakeskating cause they are so light.. and they usually do a pretty swell job of letting the water out..

I ended up getting a pair of Vans Chukka Lows cuz they are comfy and they have very little fabric so they won't hold a lot of water despite being a shoe primarily used for skateboarding. What do you guys think? Should this be okay?

Pretty much any type of vans are good for wakeskating. But remember any shoe will only last for so long. Grip tape + water + shoe = death at some stage

Dudeski, ya man chukka lows are up there with some of MY favorite shoes to ride in. i love my braata's tho, but the suede is starting to get super crusty and the shoes have shrunk a bit because of it. i had to take the sole pads out Laughing
