hi guys,
ok, i cant deny it I 'm a huge fan of snowskating (bi-deck).
I used to snowboard a lot but around the same time I switched from wakeboarding to wakeskating I also switched from snowboarding to snowskating….I guess my feet cant stand bindings anymore…lol
Anyway, do you guys think that one day snowskating might take the same road than wakeskating….? I mean back in the days (and sometimes still now) people had trouble understand what wakeskating was about and they couldn’t understand or foresee its potential (obviously this has changed big time, just look at Aquafrolics…)….maybe one day people will stop looking at me like if I were a freak on my skate and snow slopes will be full of kids throwing backside bigspins down hills….who knows…
What do you think?

honestly i don't think it will.
i think snowskating is way harder than it should be (probably because of lack of board technology?)
i have a bi-level too and i always wondered why they dont make the bottom deck the same size as the top deck....it seems like it would be so much easier to turn and a lot more stable for tricks

hmm the bottom deck still looks pretty small. i dont understand why they're made like that though, i can't really see any advantages to having a bottom deck smaller than the top deck

us Wisconsin boys really liked the Burton Approach... I wish they'd bring it back! Maybe if I can get the specs, the dudes at New would make me one

gnarlydancer, I think a really large bottom deck would be difficult to turn. I think about how I turn on a snowboard and I really use my legs and get into it (I guess rising in and out of turns, if that makes sense). I think it would be hard to ride a snowskate like that.
Anyway, It would take people to invest some legitimate time and effort into snowskating to progress it--not only promoting it through riding, but making good equipment that people can progress on. I used to snowskate and I don't anymore. I had one of those premiere wakeskates and those were basically toys. You couldn't turn them, you couldn't ollie them...they were fun for awhile. I remember seeing the first burton bi deck on the x games and I thought there was some potential there. but then I think about wearing all of that bulky snowboarding gear and the forward momentum thing (you need something to create it, be it a hill or a towing device), and I'm quickly over it (sorry LT ). I would rather snowboard at my hill than snowskate any day of the week. but I'd rather wakeskate than snowboard.
hahaha, I just finished reading your post labellethrasher and it made me smile.

that video was impressive and those dudes are shredding. but I guess snowskating just isn't my thing anymore because that video doesn't make me want to do it.

I would like to see the top decks a little bigger, maybe something just a little smaller then a wakeskate-- I took two snowskate bottom decks and mounted them to an old cassette concave but the snow melted before I got to try it
I think it would be cool to shred some green and blue trails on the hill on a snowskate but the thing I can't get past is the leash? How can you can do spin and flips tricks if they make you use one- or am I missing something
