I don't see how you guys think this is a bad thing. In my opinion, AWS was constantly updated with boring filler just to keep it "daily." I feel like coming to the new site, the content is better and the quality of the new video player is night and day compared to AWS. If it hurts your butt so bad, just bookmark the wakeskate section and you won't have to look at wakeboarding.

i may be putting a scarlet letter on myself here but i have to say i love wakeboarding and I really like the fact that they have linked the two.

To me, wakeboarding is wakeboarding; whether you strap or not it's all relative. personally, i do both. whenever i have a boat at my disposal, i board and occasionally skate and when all i have is my ski, i skate.

i ride with both wakeboarders and skaters and when i hear a rider of one group talk down about another i just assume them to be ignorant. Whether you appreciate wakeboarding or not, it has a lot to do with the existence of wakeskating.

both of these sports have earned equality in my eyes and in most ways i see them as one.

basically i just wish skaters would embrace wakeboarding (and vis versa) and quit bitchin. do what you do the way you like to do it and love every second. im done Razz

Waterskiing is the reason wakeboarding exist. I wouldn't compare the two as I would compare wakeboarding to wakeskating.
Long story short. waterskiing>wakeboarding.

It depends on how you look at it, becuase surfing has had a pretty significant influence on wakeboarding as well.

brassmonkey, i didnt say wakeskating owed its existence to wakeboarding...only that wakeboarding had a large part to do with the origins of wakeskating and in return the least the wakeskating community could do is not ridicule it because all it does in the end is hurt both sports as a whole..

My question is why does this have to be an area of conflict at all? why can't we all just be stoked for each other. quit hatin.

RC, It may hurt wakeskating a little bit if you're talking to the wrong people, but every time I say wakeboarding sucks to anyone wanting to try it they're like oh so I can try out your wakeskate? After they try wakeskating they ask to buy any of my old boards too Laughing
