Im gonna build a rail in the river. Its pretty muddy. so im thinkin the rail where you dig the posts in. But if i let the one with the cross supports sink in and add some weight to the bottom it will be sturdier?

I have had great success wit the first one. Its sturdy if you do it rite.

i would go with the cross members at the bottom, maybe add some kind of weighting on the bottom supports also.

true. but im a lazy fvck. and the fwc might take it out if they think its a obstruction. would number 2 be sturdy?

build # 2 and attach a few pieces of 6" pipe to the bottom so it will sink in the ground
