| i donno. I know everyone hates it when they break a deck. how can we support our favorite peeps when we make boards that cant break? How will companies make money if ppl have a deck from 3 years ago? i just wanna discuss this and hear peoples opinions. |

Here my take on it....
If you are a "core" wakeskater who lives it... its a lifestyle not a hobby ... then you want to rely on your equipment and expect it to get you a full season or more of hard riding and many many sessions at places such as OWC or winching in sketch areas prone to heavy damage. instead of driving to your local shop to fill out or wait for your warranty / replacement. then your the guy Integrity builds for... you can also turn around and get a solid return/resale price if you decide to sell it... invest that money into a new upgrade or next years latest model. We are not trying to under build so we can cheapen your experience and make extra fast turn around cash... that's Liquid forces job in a nut shell... they cater to the masses who spend more and ride less... we cater to the progressive core who at the end of the day advance the sport... They understand this and we build life time type customers who respect our short term sacrifice for the long term good to the sport as a whole.
Plus... I don't want to hire people or waste my time or your time manning the phones ringing off the hook complaining about their decks delaminating / warping / breaking just to send them a new one... i'd rather make less money and ride more... then make more money and ride less...
one of many examples i could give you. |

Yeahit's totally the same for me with snowboarding- I ride about 70 days a season, so my boards get a LOT of asbuse. Every 3 years I grab a new board, regardless of how beat up my old one is. I like the updated tech, new feel, and the snap of a new board. Call me spoiled, rich, whatever you want, but when it boils down to it, if I love the sport, I'm going to support it.
And supporting snowboarding is not supporting Burton. Corporate snowboarding FTL.
I'm sure the exact same goes for wakeskating.
And about any other individual sport out there. _________________ You can't get hurt in the air.

I buy a season pass & new snowboard gear every year. I buy the snowboard based on graphics and just spend all of my time at the resort bar trying to pick up on chicks!
Same thing with wakeboarding & wakeskating. I just fill up my board racks with the cool gear and to hot laps and power turns up and down the lake. _________________ Vive La Jeffe! - JLA is snowboarding!

??? Did you even think before you posted that?
yea, you're right, i'll tell Erich to make shiznackle cheap boards so people can break them easily to push wakeskating in the right direction.
No i totally agree, we need to break wakeskates just as often as skateboards to get that true skate feeling.

TWG, Why should he keep quiet? I think its a pretty valid question and one that should be discussed. I don't think he was attacking anything Kevin has done at Devotid with his post either.
When I first read Oury's post I thought of those Stride gum commercial's because they "never lose their flavor" or whatever.
But on a serious note, some people want to have a fresh deck, the newest technology, clean graphic and so on. This is where having a board that doesn't break doesn't mean you won't make money. Personally, I rode my 06 TNT for almost 2 years, with a nice gash in the sidewall, and it still had great pop. I picked up the 08 TNT so I could try the new X-Y axis weight thing, as well as the new size. I think I might still be the only person who likes the regular core better than the Bamboo though. _________________ -Jordan Schwaller

TTUFAN24, I don't know if your serious or not (I hope not). You must have forgotten that you can pick up a blank skateboard for about $30, whereas the cheapest concave wakeskate is still about $200. The price to break ratio is about the same. A skateboard may last a month for the casual skater, and a wood concave might last about a season (lets just say 8 months) for someone who wakeskates often. This equals about the same amount of money per month riding. _________________ -Jordan Schwaller

Schmaltz, you are the biggest fvking hater if i was jimmy redmond i would come find you and kick your ass you don't give a fvck about customers... you just like jerking around a bunch of cOckriderz by making them pre-order and wait months for you to build a skate because you strive for "more ride time"
LF has done way more than you will ever do for the wakeskating industry. if it wasn't for nick... your company would be mediocre at best.
didn't liquid force manufacture the original cassettes? _________________ north jones |

| Boards should be made to last. If someone really likes a board, and are impressed with its quality/durability, they will be more likely to buy that brand again even if the board doesn't break, because they know about the boards durability personally. If I got a board that broke in a month, I would not buy it again. |
