Russian is completely entitled to his opinion on here. Realistically, it seems like he's supposed to be silenced because he doesn't agree with a lot of people on here, and I don't like the idea of someone being pushed into a corner like that. Anyone on here can either take what Russian said and try to process it (a few others agreed with what he said about the photo) and make a different shot next time, or you can completely forget about it and keep doing what you think is right or what you like. But it's not like he was going out of his way to destroy that photograph.

And I think this is like anything else, A-grade or not. An artist (or whatever) is going to create something and not everyone is going to like it. Trick style, a board graphic, writing--all of these things will have people who love them and hate them, and people will also speak out. Take it for what it's worth and try to build upon what you already have mastered (if you agree with the relevant critique) or again, ignore it.

Tad is right, wakeskating does bring friends closer...but if you have close friends and you're trying to push something (any aspect of wakeskating) forward, would you want your friends to be honest and tell you when you're doing something wack, or just be OK with it and let you go on (with your bad self)? I think this is situation dependent because if the rider isn't trying to make a change, then critique doesn't matter. Anyway, this isn't specific to this argument but it seems like something to think about. Why else do you go to your friends for an opinion? Hopefully you're expecting something honest, yet constructive, which makes it easier to deal with...

electricsnow, I have no problem with what Russian said about the photograph. I go to art school and we critique work every. single. day. It was the "Joe Blow/PRo" comment that bothered me because it's so far from being a valid point and/or argument.

Isnt the purpose of this forum to share photos/videos/stories of yourself and friends. Thats the reason why I joined. Sure you are entitled to your own opinion but you should of left it at the light in the corner problem instead of taking it way to deep in the "bro ism" comment. Just be happy that people are wakeskating and enjoying it. Quit blowing stupid sh i t way out of proportion. To the ones posting up frame grabs from video cameras, their weekend warrior stories, and their freezing water sets, I admire your passion. Quit getting worked up over nothing. Life will just be that much easier.
