He deserves it. And who cares what religion he is, I think most people forget about the whole 'separation of church and state' thing. He could be a Muslim and I still would have voted for him.

I was watching CNN tonight and a black correspondent said that he remembered a time when black parents would tell their children that becoming president was out of the picture. He said that now he can finally tell his kids, nieces, and nephews that this is a realistic goal and something that they can actually look forward to if they work hard. He almost shed a tear when he said this.

It's silly to think that our country still views people by their beliefs or the color of their skin (I have a dream?), and it's true in a lot of areas especially where I live here in Kansas. The county I live in is the ONLY blue county in the entire state. I think that Obama becoming president might help open people's minds and hearts in the aspect of humans viewing others as humans, and not by their religion or skin color, at least I hope it will. And we all can help stop the spread of ignorance. Okay, I'm ranting.

I know quite a few young Republicans who are only such because of their parents' views. Use your brain to figure out what you truly believe, and not because someone told you so. I'm sad to say that I voted for Bush in the previous election and that was only because I was once naive and did not exercise my power to its full extent, but I admit it and have since moved in a better direction.
