Obscura FTW, looks so hot in banana yellow.

The mod looks interesting for sure, but why do most compression molded decks have to be so thick?

Thanks Ed! Got any shots of the bottoms?

My GUESS on the thickness of those boards is just the evolution with radical concaves and kicktails. Nobody's ever explained this, and I don't make boards in my garage so this is how my mind has justified it. But think back to the first compression molded hyperlites (edit--specifically the boards from 03) and how thin those were, but how little concave they had and how non-existent any sort of kicktail was. Then think how thin the board would be where the concave is the deepest. I think that board would be pretty weak (in terms of strength, not like the south park brand of weak).

Anyway, nice work, ed. Cool Laughing
