Gripping your deck step by step instructions WITH DI CUT GRIP

.'.

1.) Wipe the surface of the deck with a dry cloth to take away any dust. Do not clean with any solvents... they can leave a residue that breaks the adhesive down and won't allow for a solid bond.

2.) The best way to apply your Jessup's grip tape is to just fold back a 1 inch section of the backing leaving the rest on.

3.) Slightly press the nose piece down at center and top of the deck so a thumb size portion of the grip tacks down.

4.) Adjust until everything looks square and it sits where you want it to be.

5.) Press the grip down firmly where the 1 inch section you exposed in step 2 is fully stuck with out bubbles or creases.

6.) Then peel the rest of the backing off and slowly lay the grip down while keeping some tension on the tape so no bubbles form.

7.) Place the backing you just peeled on the top of the grip surface (easier on the skin) and push down firmly from the middle out to the edges.

8.) Make sure you press firmly all around, especially the outside edges.

9.) Now I would stand on it and press around with your feet to help seat the grip even more.

10.) If you don't press firmly water can cause the grip to peel up in spots. The only time I have seen problems was when the grip didn't get press firmly all around the edges.

11.) Go ride...

Erich, I saw that on your website but I didnt have the di-cast cut grip, just a full sheet that I bought from devotid. It was all fine until I got to the spot in between the rail and the pre kicks, that lil flat spot. I couldnt really get a clean edge all the way around

the way you do it on a skateboard is you take a file to the edge and it kinda shapes and wears down the grip so that it's easy to cut and it leaves a nice grey trail to follow. then just take an exacto to it.

I will also be regripping my integ with 3 skateboard grip sheets since full sheets are not available. My plan is to use the backing of the DI CUT GRIP which came with the board and trace it on this 3 skateboard sheets. Hope it comes out nice.

okay, everyone that has posted is missing what im needing help for, i know how to grip a skate. i have been doing it for YEARS. what im asking is the best way to get the sections between the rails and the pre kicks, you know that lil flat area, that if you do use the screw driver to outline, it wont work due to how the beveled rails drop flat

cheapskate, im not the one asking, i was just making a visual representation of what McLOVIN was saying

i personally would just go for it and cut it with the razor between the marks you made on the edgesor the cuts you already made and try to line it up right, do it free hand
