Chill out it's just the wood swelling over the paint, your board isn't going to delam or anything like that.

FYI...Everyone is different and likes different things.

They dont make wooden boats, wooden water skis, etc...anymore and there is a good reason for it. (See above quote)

If you have a wooden boat and take care of it, they can be nice. My cousins are all about vintage...vintage cars, motorcycles, boats, etc. They have this wooden boat that reminded me of the old batman boat (like the batman boat from the 60s) and it's plush...but you know, I suppose boats and wakeskates are two separate things.

But I'd bet there were many reasons as to why they changed the materials in waterskis and boats other than the cliche "wood and water don't mix."

My dad wants to build a wood cruiser boat... Cool I guess. Like the ones they drive around in the third Indiana Jones.

Maybe Vance's comment wasn't the best but you don't need to jump all over him.

Kento, I think you've completely missed the point. The point vance was trying to make (from what I can gather) is that wood as a material wasn't so bad, if "peoples from a different country" were able to travel months on end without issues (within reason--scurvy doesn't count-ha). And wooden boats go back well beyond the time of the 13 colonies.

And whether people like wood as a material or not, it's the cheapest way to introduce people to wakeskating. Not every newbie will want to spend 200.00-300.00 on a wakeskate. And you know, you can hate all you want, but as a kampus rider so eloquently stated, some of the sickest tricks are going down on the simplest deck on the market (and it's wood).
