i hate wakeboards

so heres what went down. we just got a boat so i figured i would try to wakeoard and see if i can learn to jump the wake. so i landed it once and im like cool ill try again, well i jump and come down and fall while the board twists, and i dont. my ankle is in some serious pain and ive been on crutches the last week with a bruised foot. after a week of waiting the dr. calls and says my x-rays have a displaced fracture, whatever that is. so im going to the orth doc in like 3 hours and im really hoping my summer isnt gone becuase of this.

i hate wakeboards.

Wakeboards are evil .I wish I had discovered skating before wakeboarding,I ruined a perfectly good knee wakeboarding.

i wish i woulda never wakebored also, it just frustrated me. skating is so much better, more free, more fun and even if im not landing a bunch of crap that day, i still have a blast Very Happy

i agree, boarding is dumpy if u ask me, i got a concussion one time and sprained ankle's, not even feeling cool while i got the injuries, lol. a wakeskate is so much more free and even when u bust its fun cuz youre flyin thru the air and dont come to a dry stop cuz yer not strapped in. ive been hit in the head and had some wicked scratches from the tape but other than that, skatin just feels better Smile

-=AlexXx=- I'm the opposite as you. Sometimes I get sooo frustrated when I can't get tricks that I'm working on or when the water is choppy. Its nice to just strap up and ride something thats so much easier and just huck myself across the wake. Plus everytime I strap up I land new tricks....wakeskating makes you a better wakeboarder IMO

JB_CANSKATE, i never get frustrated... when i suck (which is often) i have even more fun cause i just laugh at myself and then i start trying tricks well above my skill level just for the fun of it.... and so i can make sweet falls... if i cant land anything sweet i want to at least make my falls look sweet... but either way i am always having a blast on a skate... wakeboarding just feels unnatural

i mean i like them and all it was fun while it lasted im just so bummed this happened. well my docotr says that when i fell my foot tried to come out of the boot, got stuck halfway out and tried to dislocate itself. well the tendon didnt want none of that so it decided to just break off the bone it was holding onto, so now theres a piece of bone somewhere in my ankle they need to find. so off to the mri and cat scan wedsnay. grand.

Sorry to hear that man. We just got back from the lake, I skated but my girlfriend wakeboarded. She was doing good and decided to try some jumping. On her last attempt she got about 2 feet high, landed pretty solid, but didn't ride it out and fell. She sprained her ankle pretty bad and is limping around the house now. Sad

Next time out I am teaching her to skate! Very Happy

i used to like wakeboarding because it was like snowboarding...but now i know that its waaay differnt than snowboarding. wakeskating rules

ripava82, went well but it was pretty choppy most of the day. I got in a couple good sets though. Landed some ollies, missed the landing on a couple that felt like they had some decent height (for me at least), and enjoyed every minute I was on the water. The only bad part of the day was scouring the lake trying to find some smooth water.
Saw your pics on NorCal Wake, you had some nice runs that day! Good job, man. Very Happy

i think wakeboardings chill, most pro wakeskaters you see today started off as amazing wakeboarders , some even went from pro wakeboarding to pro wakeskating in just months becuase there both very similuar sports.

i dont wakeboard but if ive wakeskated a full day and theres still some time to waste, i strap down or wakesurf..

...but ill never f*ckin waterski Evil or Very Mad
