I have to second that. The two just don't feel the same. and my bi-level has some crazy coating on it...it's like this stuff we have at the shop...I can't remember the name, but as far as skating is concerned, it's like 20.00 a sheet, you put it on your base and it kind of protects the graphic, but also reduces the friction and makes it better for sliding...it's also pressure sensitive. To each his own, I guess...
all I know is that EVERYONE deserves a good wakeskate, whether you're buying your first flat deck or a high end concave... _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

I started ridin on a cassette. I loved it. after I was hooked on wakeskating I started going thru a board a month, then a board every two weeks somtimes. I got sick of not having a skate. when I met up with Schmaltz we decided to try to make a skate that would last. a skate that had energy like wood but did not fade away. I'm pretty sure we acheaved that. I will say that there is no feeling like a crisp wood deck(the feeling just did not last). I have never had a bad day of skating because of my board since... _________________ at least be honest with your self |

How about Oak- moderately priced and solid to boot, I will maintain my opinion that wood and water mix well as long as you have the correct variables to work with. Oak has proved solidarity last year and the price is comparable to last year as well- consider the minor monoetary increase part of economic inflation i.e. if the minimum wage goes up, so must the price of wooden wakeskates... _________________ www.OakWaterSkates.com

here's are some interesting factoids: in 2003, the original 4-trac was retailed at 249.99, and I reckon hyperlite's first concave was in that neighborhood as well. And in 1998, jason's fresh water wakeskate was retailed at $460... _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

Thats cool, it really puts stuff in perspective, I'de say that the new wood decks, (Satt..., Oak, LF) are stronger then those 03 4tracks and there a hell of alot cheaper, So my point it this, quit complaining about the price on skates kids, there are cheaper boards out there, and thats exactly what your going to get (a cheaper product.) _________________
