<3, so true. I just cant seem to remember this when i compete and end up choking. Now i just sing a song and pretend the judges in the boat are my buddies i ride with when I'm free riding at home.

Contests mean nothing. period.

theres really no telling. it could be a couple shuvs and 180's or it could be bs bigs and kickflips. it just depends on who goes. don't go in it to win it, just go for the experience because i guarentee u'll have more fun hanging out with everyone before and after u ride then when u actually ride. good luck!

just have fun, go out there and stomp the stuff you know you can land. make sure you do both lip and wake to wake stuff, then at the end throw down one of your hammers and if you land it you got a podium bound run.

if you are just riding in contests to ride and have fun you might as well go to the lake with your buddies. comps cost money and you get one maybe two runs with each run being two passes. but it is definitely cool meeting people at the comps

Contests are soooooooooooo much fun just for the fact of hanging out with your buddies and meeting new people. I swear i meet the nicest people at contest and always wish i was closer so we could ride together.

Ive competed 2x, once at the Lonestar Wakeskate Jam and once for INT. Both days are easily one of the funnest and best days of my life. riding was fun but it was definelty the people and the atmosphere that makes a contest.

Meeting people at contests is great fun. I love them, and i always look forward to contests. Especially when they are in the distant future and i think "I wonder what shizzle i'll be stomping then?" It's always fun to set goals and wonder about how it will turn out when judgement day comes Smash But as for the atmosphere being more fun than the riding... I'm not so sure about that. To me, nothing beats riding in any cirumstance. Birthday

I HAVE to disagree with you here nick, I dont know if your read that wrong or If i'm reading it wrong but if you throw a run that has w2w 180's and a w2w shuv your more then likely going to be in the top 3.

Also if your looking to ride and get out on the water, contest are not the place to do it, Contest are cool in that you get to meet some really cool people hang out and all that BUT its not everything. You alos have to consider its expensive and your going to end up only riding for probably 1.5 minutes.

Comps are cool, and i dont care what anyone says if your a good contest rider your a good rider. Some people do poorly in contest that doesn't make them bad riders but the ones that ride descent, But there's something to be said for the ones that land there tricks in there runs, and when there free-riding.

PIRATE, Go to Toe Jam and do a w2w 180 and some shuvs and I promise you won't make top 3, that run isn't good enough anymore. And anyways, I wasn't even talking about boat really.

And from the looks of it, we have very different opinions on contests. I never went to contests to get in some water time, that's not what they're for. And as far as being expensive, most am contests are like $25 bucks. Going to contests to me was all about meeting a bunch of people like you that love the same thing you do.
